Love it. Should be more of it. Happy to set something similar up in Australia. Now where do I get my paint gun from :)

This kind of was over the top... They used these kind of pro paintball guns you normally only use whilst wearing protection... That must hurt like hell

Discussed this last night. Great way to start out a little business with this as your promo. All you need is a bit of webcam kit and some enthusiastic paintball antiheros. And a big city with plenty of petty crime where the law enforcement is too busy with bigger problems.

Like Ghostbusters without ghosts. How I love the possibilities of microeconomics. :)

I don't quite understand - you seem to be contradicting yourself. Your sig tells us you are proud to be a barbarian - acting alone according to your internal moral compass - standing and fighting and all that. Here you have somebody putting that philosophy to practical use, and not succumbing to any of the errors that vigilantism is prone to. I.E, they knew who the culprit was, and he was positively and correctly identified as a culprit. They did not act on any racist or stereotyped objectives or standards. And, they delivered a fitting punishment - no permanent or lasting damage, other than to the perpetrator's ego. I don't know about in Oz, but in the US, if this guy had gone to jail as a result of this crime, he would likely have suffered far worse trauma there.

You know, I'd be among the first in line to speak out against vigilantism, but in this case, I think it was well done and richly deserved. No question in my mind who the bad guy was - and I think what he got might even prevent him from trying to steal bikes again. Unlike a jail term - which would only teach him how to steal bikes better next time. Or cars, or otherwise up the ante. This way, nobody permanently hurt. Sounds like justice to me.
Cops I've known, and considered friends, or at least more than acquaintances, still wouldn't pay much attention to stolen bikes.

Ah but it's taken out of context :p

True he deserved it, and true cops don't really care about stolen bikes. But I still feel it was an over the top reaction + vigilantism is forbidden
