Bikes to Rwanda

I don't know if the following is in breach of forum rules and etiquette, but I'm riding in 2011 to raise funds for Bikes to Rwanda, an initiative that is sending bicycles to Rwanda to help stimulate their coffee industry among small cooperative plantations. As a cyclist living in the comfort, safety, and privilege of the developed world, it's all too easy to think of the pain I suffer on a long ride as a badge of courage. In reality, it is no such thing; rather just the way I choose to spend my leisure time; plenty of others the world over have no such choice and yet experience far worse hardships on a daily basis. As a result, I'm looking for sponsors who will give me a penny for every kilometer I ride in 2011; proceeds will go to Bikes to Rwanda. For more information about my project, see:

Great initiative ;) will ask the parents to sponsor me so I can sponsor you ;)

Thanks. It's hardly an innovative idea, but it's a neat challenge to put riding and sponsoring together. Easy to do and great to be able to contribute to a good cause. Feel free to contact me if you want to pledge, but even more so, put together your own fundraising.
