+ another L on Bissel

How does this team, which has done a good bit of damage in the US Cycling Circuit this year compare with some of the the lower French UCI Pro Tour teams?

Bissell isn't a stage-racing team. They would basically get demolished in any real tour unless it was decided by a time trial.

European racing is different than US racing. Europeans have endurance -- and races that are actually long. Just look at the (former?) top domestic sprinter in the US - Ivan Dominguez. He was lucky to finish a race in Europe.

The reason most US cyclists get trashed is the Chris Charmichael way of thinking. "Time Crunched,6 hours a week" is his latest masterwork. Lots of good pros euro and N. America based are on 1 ride that long. Bissell has good homecare products and racers, but if they contested most big races they would be used to mop the floor.

Don't confuse their racing agenda with ability to race different types of racing. Their results suggest they have some fast and smart riders. You can get them to train longer to do a different type of race.
You can train endurance. You can't make a slow rider much faster.

hi there...

A break got away early on Wednesday’s 163.5k stage from Warrnambool to Apollo Bay and kept things calm in the peloton for much of the race. Teams represented in the break included BISSELL, Garmin, Jayco, Drapec Porsche, and Praties.
