Frustrating that they announce launch of 2011 range with Elite bikes but they're not available until the summer. Has Chris forgotten that the season starts in March and is over (bar hill-climbs and Tour of Lombardy) by September - FAIL!

Why Not?

Can you elaborate why you don`t like the bikes?

I am in the market for a new bike. Just went looking at Treks and am not impressed at getting stuck with a parts spec that I really don`t want on anything less than a 6 series. I am thinking of waiting for Boardman to be released in the USA - looks good on the website.

i am not a carbon fan. i prefer old school aluminium or if budget allows titanium, but if you want carbon there are for more interesting looking frames out there, cervelo, pinarello dogmas, cippollini frames some bianchis etc...for boardman read bland.

but if you are interested in a budget carbon frame, they are 'apparently' available somewhere on the net from china/taiwan sans paint for lots of $$$$ cheaper. not sure where as i prefer alu, but if you do a search you might get a nice frame and then a personal spray job.

only my opinion of course:)

So, you haven't ridden one and you don't like the way they look? That's how you evaluate the quality of a bike, is it? Don't misunderstand, I ride custom fillet brazed steel so am definitely in the Luddite camp and like you would go custom Ti when funds allow but I think that the OP was looking for a bit more measured feedback. ;)

fwiw, I know two out of contract British Pro Continental riders who bought 2010 Boardman Pro Carbon's when they were between teams. They are exceptionally good value for money. The 2010 frame is identical to that used by Nicole Cooke to win the Olympic road race in Beijing.
