I'm thinking of upgrading (? :)) from my current Euros to the C24's. Any thoughts?

I'm a 70Kg, 183cm mainly interested in climbing (less speed in flat terrains).

Thanks!

Both great hubs, both rely on unique to that wheel, parts. What do you want the C24s to 'do' that the Eurus don't do?

I'd check on both the stiffer and lighter first. For an aluminum rimmed wheel I would stay in Campy and go to Shamal. about as stiff and light as aluminum wheels get. Nothing wrong with the shimano's either but neither is much of an upgrade over the wheels you are riding now.

Which DA 9000 C24? C24CL clincher, or C24 carbon tubular?
If the former then you are only saving 100g over your Eurus. Ifthe latter then you are saving 340g, but spending an extra $1800...

I was thinking about the C24 clincher...

How about Fulcrum's Racing Zero vs. Campy Euros?

Fulcrum's racing 0 is the same wheel as the Campy Shamal without the 3g spoking pattern. The Eurus is very similar and I think the only big difference is the spokes are steel and the hub shell on the Eurus is aluminum rather than Carbon.

The Fulcrums do effectively have the G3 spoke pattern, but slightly different spacing/angles so the sets of 3 spokes aren't parallel. It just isn't as obvious, that's all.

They call it "2:1" rather than G3.

I like the concept. I had some Eurus's which were very nice wheels indeed. The spokes on the Eurus are alloy now. They switched from steel many years back.

I have the previous (10sp) version of the C24Cl and have been very impressed, but have to admit they are my only higher-end road wheels and I don't have anything above Mavic Ksyrium equipe level to compare them to. Obviously the 400g weight difference between these and the old Ksyriums was easily noticeable (mine weighed a hair under 1400g including the supplied rim tape).

More surprising to me was how much better they handle, giving the confidence to stay off the brakes for longer and carry significantly more speed through corners. From one weekend to the next, running the same tire and air pressure, on the same route, I went from barely staying on a friends wheel through fast downhill corners to gapping him by a couple of lengths.
