Well, he's climbing better than ever.
Time trialling nearly as well as Cancellara who's the best in the world.

Have America got their new hero?

Oh, and hes 72 as well which makes it even more impressive.

(purely starting this before we have a sudden influx of new levi threads)

TSF, just because you are sure someone is going to make another levi thread and then complain about that on twitter doesn't justify you making one because there was going to made one anyway.

You are smarter than that mate.

I'd say tour podium, although not a win, is a bigger result also.
No doubt he'd value it higher. I think he would value ToC higher also, but whatever.

Levi won the Dauphine a few years back if memory serves.... I'd say that was bigger.
Levi has won quite a few races, and finished rather high in the biggest of them. Can he win the TdF? Sure, the same way Oscar Pereiro did.

I don't know. I was going to say I don't care. But given the reactions after his TdS win it would be priceless. Only a duel with Gesink and Evans would make that even better. :D

I'm guessing Chris Horner might have a thing or two to say about it.
Actually, I was thinking before the ToC, especially if you listen to the pre-race press conference, that Levi traded his support for Horners win for Horner's support in the upcoming TdF.

hard to win when you are running bottles for Jani and Horner...

Agree Phil and Bob will be washing Bottle's bottle later today in the broadcast...

May watch it tonight just to see what they say about the Schleck failure today, after expressing their admiration of the Leopard Trek team with the tactics yesterday.

How will they say the ITT results don't mean anything for the brothers, yet means everything for Pants...what my niece calls Levi...when she asked why I was saying NO Levi, No Levi...she asked why I was angry at pants??

Not a fan of that style of racing. Would make for a boring month of July if Levi/bottle/pants is leading.

That sounds strange to me and not on par with how I'd have figured it. Levi always seems to be trying to win California--and sure didn't have the form to beat Horner.

If he wasn't on top form because he's going for the TdF, that's interesting.

He has no chance of beating Contador or Schleck barring some accident.

Another question is can Cunego still ride a top ten at the Tour, considering his commitment in this race? If he could have done it at all, that is.

[edit] I see the Italian Champs is on next weekend. Vai Damiano! Not to jinx him though.

Nothing like a good inter-team rivalry to spice things up. ;)
Chris has quite openly stated that Shack will have "four supported riders" going to le Tour.
Chris, Levi, Klodi and Jani.
Fun times ahead.

(I hope Horner crushes them all)

Last night's broadcast was unbearable due to the Andy lovefest that was going on between Sherwen and Roll. It was so transparently biased. I actually stopped watching after 15 minutes. They must've mentioned "Andy" 40 times in that span.

It will be interesting to hear this evening's spin given the circumstances described above.

They will be absolutely breathless over Levi's victory.

I perfectly understand the hyping of American riders for the American audience (they gave some good attention to CVV and Tommy D. as well last night) but the fawning over Schleck was just too much.
