Cancellara's power output

Cancellara was REALLY impressive at E3. It'd be interesting to know what his power-meter readings were. Can anyone share information about his genuine power output [e.g. number of watts at threshold .. etc]?

Unless someone has access to his power meter, or knows someone on Leopard Trek, you won't get any figures worth anything.

Although, the helicopter zoomed in on his handlebars at one point and it was showing he was outputting 485W. Take that with a grain of salt though, because the image was a little blurry.

This is his data from the Oman TT (posted on LEOPARD TREK facebook page):

If those numbers are from the Oman TT, then Cancellara expended 795 kj of energy over a period of 29.8 minutes (finish time of 29:48).

This yields an average output of 1,600.67 kj/hr.

This translates to an average of 444.63 Watts.

Not Fabian's best half-hour effort by any means.

And the 1.03 on the screen - is that proportion of threshold? Thus ~430?

That number represents max power (prob. over a 1- or 5-second interval, depending upon the monitor's setting): ca. 1030 Watts

The SRM only shows 3-digit power readings, so it starts using that decimal notation above 999 Watts

This pretty clearly shows the difference between steady tt power and spiky road race power, too. I remember Cancellara's peak power at Flanders last year being in the 1400-1500 range.

Ofcourse not, he was only 5th in that ITT. And it was early february

someone can tell us. Fabian lost his SRM on the cobbles. unless Race organization grabbed it quickly. The data in that little guy is worth a penny or 2.
