canyon 6.0 good deal?

http://www.canyon.com/_pt/roadbikes/bike.html?b=2502

a friend of mine recommended me that as i sold my road bike last week, been riding my old MTB lately which is pretty nostalgic and cool

only 999€( 1.016,47€ after delivery costs) and looks like a pretty cool bike and easy to buy( could it get any easier then delivered at home?)

what do you guys think? should i stick with the compact or are the 50€ needed to get a triple worth it? i have chosen then 6.0 instead of the 6.0 sl because the sl uses sram and from my own personal experience and what i read on this forum (never used sram in my life and always used shimano) shimano is more reliable. is that the right choice?

also i used canyons system to tell me which frame size i should use and it said i should get an XS frame lol i am only 171 cm so it didn't came as much of a surprise :p

Try and get the cranks upgraded to a 130PCD. This will have chainrings at 53/39T. With the rear cassette being 11-28 the upgraded cranks will still give a wide range of gear choice. Unless you are riding on some very steep and long climbs i don't see the need for 110PCD cranks.

Depends on where you ride, what type of riding you do, and how fit you are.

If you're older and/or are carrying extra kilos and you want to climb steep hills, the extra low gearing the triple offers might be handy. But if you're fitter and/or live in less tough terrain, 34/28 is more than enough.

you might try roadbikereview or bikeradar.com to see if they have any current reviews of the Canyon's line. Bikeradar recently did a review of best road bikes under £1,000:

Canyon was not on their list. But their list is probably stuffed with bikes from contributing sponsors (e.g. their review may be biased, not objective). Readers posting in the reader comment section wondered why Canyon roadlite 6.0 was not in the list.
