This issue has been raised before in conversation with and including some prominent figures in cycling clubs, federations and associations, is the UCI in its present state capable of successfully managing global cycling and its future?
Perhaps it is time to review this and create a new global governing body which would serve the best interests of our sport. Thoughts?

the uci are a joke, and mcquaid is the biggest joker of them all.

The system has made no progress in the last number of years.

I dont get the UCI. They have shown themselves to be incapable of running cycling and they need to be put out of their misery very quickly and disbanded.

The rankings for instance, both team and individual are a dogs breakfast, a total joke. Mcquaid has clearly bluffed his way into this position but he doesn't have a clue and is hopelessly out of his depth.

I've just read an infuriating interview with McQuaid where he points the finger at the Spanish authorities and government about drug use in their athletes and then takes a swipe at team managers as well, but pretends that the UCI sits high and mightily with no responsibility at all for any of this mess. That is the height of hypocrisy and a colossally poor example of management and leadership skills.
