Danish CAS judge member lawyer Lars Halgreen says Bjarne Riis and Saxo Bank will win the case of the UCI about the problem that Contador can not run the score point into 2012.
This judge says about the results now and override legal certainty.

Probably the only obstacle, aside the sponsor, in Contador comeback to Saxo in 2013.

Actually Riis see its as the other way around, saying that they wont go on with it before they have a deal with contador for 2013. He, however, also hints that it is close to being a done deal.

Also, in a non-contador related interview Riis states that he is ready to buy rider with enough points incase the team doesnt earn enough during the seaon:

Finally, this subject is already being discussed in the clinic:

I mean Saxo deal end this year, they need to renew it or find other company. And perhaps Bjarne is tempted a larger budget. There are interesting riders as free agents next winter.

Yes, I'm sure Bjarne Riis will win his case. But the more important question is how come a guy who was handed a 2 year suspension only sits out a single half season of racing and never had any of his UCI points docked in a way that impacted his team's ability to secure a Pro Tour license?

Team leader can't score points before August this year plus all his results from last year have been erased (table based on previous two years).

This.
The CAS-related issue is a matter of Contador not being able to score points for the next two years, after his come-back.

Bjarne's issue - is that he'll have no points from Contador (other than his Vuelta points he'll score this year, IF CAS overturns the above-mentioned ruling) from the past two years, so he will need to sign riders regardless, unless of course a couple of his existing riders somehow score major points over the course of this year, cause so far basically all they have are Nuyen's points from last year's RVV, plus a few from Sorensen and Haedo from last year, and 30 from Tossato this year

I have seen Riis suggest that Alberto might very well make his return in Eneco Tour which is also a WT race. If he wins both Eneco and the Vuelta wouldnt that be enough points alone? Maybe he can do a top 10 in San Sebastian and maybe Lombardia too

Not if AC's points don't count.

Well, hard to say. First of all UCI sporting criteria is not based solely on UCI World tour points, it's calculated differently.

But if we take WT points for estimation purposes, Saxo was about 170 points out of WT spot on last years points (without Contador points), let's say another 170 or so without his points this year as well (already about a 100 out as of now), so he'd need at least 350 points or so (of course if they count)

So, 270 if he wins Eneco and Vuelta, so couple more top-10s from Lombardia and San-Sebastian could very well give him another 80 points, so it's all doable of course, however it's all under many assumptions, maine A-he will win Eneco B- CAS will overturn the decision of him not being able to score points for the next 2 years

Ofcourse. But if we take for granted that Riis win the case (which many legal experts and common sense suggest that he will) I reckon that should do it.

Aye, but I reckon its also worth including that the rest of the team problably will get some more points over the season (not a whole lot but still should be able to earn some - Haedo in the Giro and maybe also in the Vuelta, a stage win or two in the Tour isnt unrealistic imo, Majka in Tour of Poland etc)

The current UCI ruling dictates that many riders will face further financial and sporting punishment after their ban is over. Only a superstar going to an already deep team will be largely unaffected.

Actually, those in line to be team leaders are the worst affected. Teams race for their leaders, and one of their incentives to win/place-well-in races is to score WT points. If you're a leader who can't score WT points, it's a big dilemma for the team management. If you're a domestique, then you would be unlikely to score points anyway, since your contribution is in effort rather than results.
