Chainset confusion

I have a Secialized Secteur Sport with a Sora triple chainset. I'd like to change it to a double & i like the idea of SRAM Apex. My confusion is with bottom brackets. Will a bb30 fit FSA Gossamer crank fit my frame? Will the SRAM Apex crank with GXP bb fit? I'm very confused.

I don't know for sure but my guess is no. Check with your local bike shop or a knowledgable member of your club.

Also if you switch to a double you may need a new front deraileur.

If you are looking to save weight start by using folding tires (I believe wire tires are standard on this bike)

I'm 99.9% certain that you have a traditional "threaded" BB-shell so you can use GXP or other "external" bottom-brackets, but BB30 and the other 'press-fit" BB's are out of the question.

I'd suspect the only drive-chain / shifting component you'll be able to keep is your front derailleur, but even that will only be "B" compatible as you'll be better off with a narrower 10-speed specific mech.

As a bikeshjop person I have to say, if you're not sure about what BB standards work with your bike, you will probably benefit from getting your local bikeshop to work out what you need.

Apex is a cool way to get the range of a triple in a 2x10 compact setup. It will work fine with either the SRAM or FSA cranksets. Use an English threaded GXP bottom bracket with the Apex crank or an English threaded FSA BB-6000 Mege-Exo bottom bracket with the Gossamer crank, 68 mm width.

The width applies to the inner sleeve.
