Chris Froome was not embarrassed today in Stage One of the Arctic Race of Norway.
A 155km stage with a Category Two 8.5km climb at 3.5% less than 20k from the finish line had the potential to distance the veteran.
However, he finished safely in the main peloton in 85th position on the day and like the majority of the field finds himself just 10secs down on race leader Alexander Kristoff.
I have just watched the stage, Froome for sprinting at the intermediate spring for a team mate just before the last climb, He was usually working pulling his mates at the front. He was at the back after the intermediate sping, when attacks staarted on the front, but he dinished on the bunch.

Today I didnt watch still the stage, but I imagine the same, working for his team mates, but with the staerrato and some step climbs at the end, it was more selective and he lost time. He is here to help.
Tomorrow we will se better how he is, but when you have an sprinter and 1 or 2 mens for FC, you have to work, becouse he is not a rider dor this kind of races, ec vept if he gut his top shape before the crash.

my impression of TON so far that it was like a procession, or even a criterium, intended for UNO-X and Kristof to win all stages. IPT just sent van Ashbrook to freelance for a podium place.

Bad news Chris Froome fans. He will not be racing at the upcoming Vuelta.
However, he is determined to see out his contract and compete throughout 2025, when he aims for one more win and a Tour de France appearance.
Froome is even open to offers if another team wants to contract him for 2026.

Maybe Ineos can pick him back up. He would fit in well with the current GC squad.

No more racing this season? Would be nice if he showed up at Tour of Britain or something. It's a bit odd not to go racing at all even if his form is not at the top right now.
IPT are doing the Utsunomiya Japan Cup Road Race race in japan by the end of the year, perhaps it is time for Chris to air the old costumes ?

Contrary to reports that Chris Froome's season is over, it seems he is slated to participate in the six-stage Tour of Croatia (known as the CRO race) starting on October 1.
I think it will be the first time Froome has ever started this particular event.
He will not be tested by a time trial, just regular stages between 119km and 167km.

Anyone on Froome Watch for this race?

Why did Froomie stop his Youtube channel? No videos for a year except two commercials. I think he received a lot of rude feedback on the "I was ready for the Tour" video, but quite rare to just stop at that point. Anyone know what happened?

So what's his major goal now? #5 at the Tour or WC gold? By now, Froomey must've realized that #5 won't be easy (mostly due to his sneaky team, not due to his fitness level). WC is his big chance though: he will be the UK leader on Rwanda roads, which he knows so well (getting hard miles in ToR). Should be an epic battle of generations there: Teddy vs Froomey! After this we will know who's the greatest cyclist of the modern era.
