Well, I would like to ask you all 2 things:
Let's get down to facts.
Froome, clearly the strongest of the 2 since 2011.
Alberto, for the sake of transparency his results will have to be divided from before the ban and after his ban.
Conclusions
My opinion
I have seen both riders rise up to the big leagues. It seems obvious to me that Froome is clearly stronger than Alberto ever was, with the difference widening each year since 2011. Who will end with the best palmares? Froome, bar some unexpected turn of events and he ends his career soon. Who has the best palmares today? Well, I think that it all comes down to how you value the Tour Vs other GTs, and their competition. Having 3 Tour wins while demolishing the strongest riders (Alberto included) is worth more than having won other GTs against lesser opposition (and never beat Froome after 2011).
- Who has the best palmares, now?
- Who will have the best palmares when both finish their careers, and who will be considered the best, strongest rider?
Let's get down to facts.
Froome, clearly the strongest of the 2 since 2011.
- 3x Tour
- 3x Dauphine
- 7x tour stages
- 2x Romandie
- 2x Oman
- 6x Romandie stages
- 3x Vuelta stages

Alberto, for the sake of transparency his results will have to be divided from before the ban and after his ban.
- 2x Tour
- 1x Vuelta
- 1x giro
- 2x Paris Nice
- 2x Vuelta Pais Basco
- after ban
- 2x Vuelta
- 2x Pais Basco
- 1x Giro

Conclusions
- Alberto has 7 GTs Vs 3 GTs to Froome. However, Froome has won more Tours and Alberto has never beaten Froome on a GT since 2011.
- As far as stages races, Froome also seems to be stronger since 2011.
- Alberto pre and pos-ban are 2 different riders.
