Clásica San Sebastián 2023 (July 29th)

Time for what is normally the biggest one-day race in summer. Can anyone prevent Evenepoel from taking an incredible third win in three starts here?

Climbs
(I know the thread is from 2019 but the route is almost identical to that year’s - and therefore different from the 2021 and 2022 editions, which had Erlaitz as the penultimate climb)

Yeah, but Gall just did some celebrations and crits in Austria after the Tour, I don't know how fully focussed he's atm. Otherwise I don't disagree with you.
According to Austrian press, Gall trained every day apart from Monday (when he traveled to Austria), and will take a break after San Sebastian. So I would think he aims for a result.

Like i said in the Evenepoel Topic. Doubtful guys who went hard in the Tour will be up to standard here. I don't see Healy or Hirschi follow when the gloves come off. So imho this is a showdown between Evenepoel and Ayuso. But the latter hasn't finished a WT one day race in the top 15 yet.

Remco, once he goes no-one else will try to follow. Same as the last 2 years.
He didn't ride the race in 2021.

Reactions: saunaking
I expected to see former winner Adam Yates riding this, could have make up a dangerous duo with Ayuso, this way if the crash doesn't bother Remco too much he will be the favourite for this.

Curious to see how Gall goes, he has no results in one day races but finished the Tour in monster shape so he could be the one staying with Remco. Watch out for the Wanty duo, Costa and Rota.
