Colorado Springs wildfire claims pro cyclist's house

Just heard from Mike Creed and he and his wife lost their house in Colorado Springs and everything in it tonight in the hellish wildfires bearing-down on the town. :(

I heard it was his dad's house....his dad having the same name...
nevertheless very sad :(

The fires are unbelievably freakish and crazy...our gov said it looked like the worst movie set of devastation...

The poor firefighters are right next to the homes with hoses but there is no stopping the winds...

thundering and lightning up a storm right now but not much rain in Boulder, although they will probably see flash flooding in Co Springs as there is so much burn

totally hellish

Good news!

Just an update (sorry I didn't post this yesterday), from Mike Creed himself:

"I have confirmation that my house has been spared after all.
Don't know why, dumb luck, too bright of paint on the siding, or house is a tough as as the 59 year old MF'er that lived in it. The guy across the street has some serious connections with the EPCSD and CSPD and got escorted in for 15 mins to confirm that all houses in my Oak Valley subdivsion are standing. That Ugly *** Quarry that I've cursed for years has saved my ***. I will surely be kissing it's *** the day I can return. I'm still not out of the woods (bad, bad pun) on this, as things could change with the wind. Again, I would like to thank everyone for your thoughts and prayer because they appeared to have been answered."
