Contador - saddle sore?

Liggett said AC has a saddle sore and is having his saddle modified so he can sit and ride. Haven't seen it confirmed anywhere else yet.

If true, I wonder if it was caused by a somewhat gimpy knee and maybe favoring one leg a bit and sitting off center a bit.

I didn't hear this, but Contador has said he's had to do too much of the work with one leg, and Cadel said it looked like Contador was kind of limping on the bike.

I thought the same thing ... almost doing a Mancebo impression at times. Not looking nearly as bouncy and fluid as usual.

if i have issues with my knees it doesnt get better riding 200 km a day... He should do a kamikaze attack and then crash out on a descent to at least save his last bit of reputation

Liggett says something and nobody else confirms it. That to me points to it not being true. If he is riding slightly limb, it is because his knee, not because a saddle sore. Probably the saddle is modified for that knee injury and Liggett did 1+1=3.

How is he losing his reputation by struggling with an injury?

I doubt he has an injury - how many sportsmen in history have feigned injury to save face when out of form?
If Contador doesn't think he can at least gain a podium with a decent time gap to the winner he'll pull out and blame the "injured" knee.....

Contador's bad form is nothing to do with his knee or the giro, its something else.

But it might have to do with Giro and/or knee and/or problems with sitting (news to me in this case) as well... We'll never know fore sure, I guess...
