David Millar aero helmet

There will probably be some sort of banal reason like he forgot his and there wasn't a spare (yes, I admit I'm fishing a bit there). But I can't think he'd intentionally go out in that on a road stage. Surely the peloton would laugh at him. That said, he's also wearing oversocks there which is a bit odd for an ordinary, fine weather day in the saddle, even if it is the Tour in Paris. :)

Maybe he did it so he could lead out Farrar better. I think so. About 1.5km from the finish, after Gilbert had done his work, you saw Dave Millar losing a bit of positioning, ending up in the wind at about 15th spot - getting really upset at something - probably for failing to help Farrar or something, and his whole aero helmet crap was useless.

saw him puting it on at the top of the champs elysees on the last lap - I laughed thinking that it was to try and give a good lead out to the garmin train which ended up being left at the station...

is there a train named David in the Thomas the Tank Engine stories?
