Roundabout in the Andy Schleck thread:

Contador didn't crack on the Galibier. He bonked.

The whole knee story is bunkum. Contador was riding well the 2 previous days and the 2 next days. Of course, when he failed out come the excuses.

I probably worded myself wrong, yes, it looks like he hurt his knee and no, his knee wasn't ****ed or whatever.

He also wasn't hindered by his knee on stages 16, 17, 19 and 20. I can't recall a quote from him or his boss that his knee would be a problem on stage 18.

Losing 90 seconds in under 3 km and then being alright the next day is consistent with a bonk.

The knee excuse for Galibier is bunkum. Better?

Drama queen.

His boss said he bonked. Get over it.

Apparently roundabout thinks Alberto's knee didn't hurt, or at least not bad enough to cause him trouble on the climbs. I disagree.

Pictures of the knee in question:

Maybe it did, maybe it didnt.
Personally I think it did.

But that certainly wasnt the reason he bonked.

Stupid thread, stupid poll, stupid OP.

Instead of asking questions such as did Contador bonk on the Galibier, and was the knee a reason for it, you went with a lame loaded question.

Thanks. I hope you now see how stupid your posts were.

In case you didn't know. I have been arguing all along that Alberto bonked. And that his knee hurt. Those two aren't mutually exclusive.

He bonked yes but his knee also hurt. Roundabout seems to think Alberto just made the whole knee-injury up.

You quoted all my posts about THE KNEE and still continue to post that I think that Contador made his injury up?

Ok, once and for all, Contador didn't make his injury up.

I'm sure it hurt, everyone's hurting something in the third week of the Tour. I thought it was pretty obvious Contador wasn't at 100% at any time in the race after his fall, I don't see any reason to doubt him about that.

I'm sorry, I must've misunderstood this:

"The whole knee story is bunkum. Contador was riding well the 2 previous days and the 2 next days. Of course, when he failed out come the excuses. "

"I probably worded myself wrong, yes, it looks like he hurt his knee and no, his knee wasn't ****ed or whatever"

In case you are too damn stupid to notice from the context, I wasn't arguing with you, but with a poster who suggested that Contador's knee was so bad that day, that he wouldn't have been dropped even without bonking.

Only in a one-eyed Contador fanboy world would disagreeing with that notion be stupid.

did princess diana scream in her first love night?
how the hell should i know?

i do think though that he bonked on galibier because of il giro.the knee might have had an influence too but it wasn't that bad.

Which is totally true. I agree with that poster.

His knee wasn't bad enough for him to lose that time on stage 18. He certainly rode well before and after with the same hurt knee. And yes, I know that there are days when the pain is worse. I actually had knee surgery myself.

I still think the most chocking thing is the colour of the underwear. You just never expect champions to wear grey undies. :D

It was nice of you roundabout to give LaF an exscuse to post those pictures again. :p

But maybe he can still ride well even with a hurt knee?

I'm not saying Alberto lost all that time because of his knee. Like I said, I believe he bonked. And you can say that I should "get over it" but what makes you think that I can't live with the fact he bonked? Hello, he did so before. It always is a possibility and I certainly don't find it bad.

All I'm saying is that his knee hurt during the entire Tour. He rode in the back of the peloton on the first climb. Certainly that didn't have something to do with his bonk in the last 5km of the stage...

Seriously, how can you both be so 100% sure of what you say? Did he state in an interview he got dropped cause his knee hurted too much? Did he state he just couldn't follow, and his knee álso hurts? Until there is something stated about it from the only person who can know, stop bringing facts like AC whispered it in your ear last night.

I think the knee was the indirect reason for bonking. Because of the knee he was worse in the pyreneés than he wanted, therefore he attacked on stages 16 and 17 to gain some time. He wasted a lot of energy in these actions and i think on the way to the Galibier he was suffering because he wasted too much energy on the previous two day's

He didn't say anything about it. He's no Andy Schleck.
