thanks Miburo, we needed a new poll.

I hoped he pulled out, so all of you cannot keep on blabbering for other 10 stages, for anything he'd do or say.

well done Wiggo, let 'em talk.

a question: if Wiggo did not exist, would everybody be rooting su much for Froome?

Not that i like either, but I actually like Wiggo much more than i like Froome.

At least hes a more colourful character. Froome is ... boring.

Yes.

He is ill with a chest cold, but he is also ill in the head.

No-one descends that slow without psychological problems.

Yes-

Cataldo was ill at the start of the Giro nobody questioned him losing 28 minutes on the 3rd stage.
Even a poor form Wiggins does not lose 3minutes on the flat yesterday.
This thread is completely absurd. I do not see a similar one for Hjesdal etc.

Sort of correct. But not sure lack of confidence in descending would be classified as a mental illness? Psychological problem yes but not illness. I think his descending confidence traces back to a fall he had at home a few months ago.

I'm no Wiggins fan but he definitely seems unwell by everything I've read plus pictures. Doesn't look like he's faking, in fact pretty obvious if you ask me. I think sometimes when you've been training very hard then back off (to taper) you are susceptable to illnesses, particulary racing in cold and wet conditions ? Wiggins and Ryder ain't the only sick riders in this Giro.

Of course he is ill, he went from being reasonable on the way to Altopiano, to being dropped on the flat.

Sometimes there's not much more to it than you might think. This is probably such a case.

No.

I think Wiggo is faking it so he has an excuse to leave.

You cant be serious, i mean he cant follow wheels on the flat. Its the rain aswell mainly, if your sick with a chest infeection would you ride in that weather? no you would not but they have too.

I think that's actually the biggest argument for the non-believers. He was pretty ok tuesday but then it was already clear he was not gonna win this giro.

Last week he got dropped in descents already.

I think it's not unreasonable to say wiggins just stopped caring yesterday.

I believe something is wrong with him though.

I disagree. I think he could have followed on the flat, but chose not to so he had an excuse to leave.

this is the biggest bs excuse i've seen since andy allegedly "broke his ***"

You could clearly hear in Wiggins' voice that he wasn't well in an interview he did on the rest day. No need for conspiracy theories given how many riders are suffering with sickness in the peloton (several dozen, and that's just the ones I've read about) after the weather conditions they've had to endure.

Somewhere between option 1 and option 3, he is certainly sick but I believe he could have continued but had already made up his mind early during yesterday's stage that he was going home and so purposely coasted and lost time.

Is that what the doctor said? In fact are you a doctor?? Not that really matter because anyone with the gift of sight and the semblence of a brain cell could see the fella was sick, he's been on anti biotics for days, or is that made up as well?

What a poor excuse for 'an Administrator' you are! Ive been a follower of this forum for years and the levels to which these discussions have sunk recently defies belief.

Its not so much of a fans discussion of cycling these days, but dumb immature *****iness and playground character assassination.

Completely moronic, you should get out a bit more and grow the F*** up.

It's funny with all the marginal gains, soigneurs fumigating the rooms before the riders enter them, personalized pillows and blankets and what not, Sky forgot that the best way to not get sick.... is to get sick. That is the only way your body can build the antibodies. Sky should inject all their riders with influenza in the off season so as to prevent marginal losses like this.

It also reminds me of this article:

Team Sky engage in extreme measures to protect Wiggins from disease

The best way to prevent influenza is with a vaccine.
