Do you get crazy when watching cycling?

Are you an overpassionate cycling fan?

-Do you yell at your screen?

-Do you throw stuff when something you didn't want to happen happens?

-Do you scream like a girl when someone you wanted to win wins?

Well... a little!
I have sometimes "yelled" at the screen (mostly soundless though) either when someone attacks or if there's a crash and someone doesn't get up/move!

I don't throw stuff...

And... screaming like a girl I rarely scream but when I do it's obviously like a girl! :p

Most of the time I fall asleep on the couch and wake up just in time for the finish ... it's kind of a ritual

I fall asleep a lot watching cycling actually. but its a good question.

I do find myself yelling at wheel sucks or guys like Hincape who never attack.

Most of the time however i am yelling at Phil or Paul

Definitely on the crazy end of the spectrum. Usually watch online and also usually am in a group chat session with fellow fans so even during the lull we chat on endlessly during the race, it really doesn't matter which feed we're all watching as the chat room takes over what ever they're saying.

If you're falling asleep you're probably watching alone, you need to join a chat board. CN's threads are way too slow to interact with the race.

If you're not using CN threads (and come to think of it, I don't remember you in one during a race), are you using the chat thread that often comes along with the feed? or what?

When Beloki fell in the 2003 tour (I used to be a big fan of him) I was on the phone and i became in a state of shock. I couldn't speak for a minute, the person on the phone was talking to me and I wasn't replying. Than when I hung up, i started shouting.

I am often on the edge of my seat waiting for the move in the mountains and when it comes it is early in the morning here or late in the evening after work watching the recording and everyone in the house knows

CN is not the only cycling forum in town. I haven't forgotten to pm you things are still in flux.

When EBH won his first stage at Tour, it was just me and TV. My mood changed to berserk, shouting, screaming. It was epic :p

Am I alone in loving it because you can "tune in/tune out" for a couple of hours and then get uber-involved when it reaches a climactic finish?

- Yes, why wouldn't I?
- It has probably occurred in the past.
- No, it actually sounds very manly. Think "heavy metal"-voice.

- Definitely. Mostly when a break is almost at the finish, and the peloton is thundering up from behind.

- Yes, it has happened.

- No.

When Cancellara is in a break and people just follow/draft behind him without helping/taking there turns I sometimes go ape**** ^^

But yea seriously sometimes i yell at the tv and stuff :D

This thread is for acting crazy when watching a race. What about not acting at all?
Just sitting up, mouth slightly ajar and eyes so fixtated on the screen that someone could dance nekkid right in front of you, and you'd only notice because they were blocking your view!

That's... totally what I did during the finish of the stage today...

All my get of the seat and shout moments (not throwings though) were great wins by countrymen: Robbie McEwen in his many TdF stage wins, Stuey winning PR (probably my favourite), Cadel winning the World Championships and TdF, and Goss and Gerrans wining MSR. I also enjoy watching Boonen and Cancellara when they are in dominant form, and Gilbert last year - especially when they're pushing it in races that you don't expect them to be going for it, such as some TdF stages. Finally, I'll definitely be shouting when the break is getting close to the finish line and the peloton are bearing down - I forget his name, but the guy that dropped his bike on a corner in the run in in the Tour of Turkey and calmly picked up his bike, put his chain back on and rode to the finish line to win with the pack literally meters of his back wheel. Fantastic stuff!

It's Keisse zeit!

This link's been getting a lot of use lately. I originally put it up for JV thread about race radios and then, just for fun, I put it in the Carlton Kirby must Go thread. Enjoy ...
