Well obbiously Valverde will win this one as the Worlds just ended... Do the poll in a month. Not straight after the race..

but yea, Valverde probably takes it, but I am sure there might be better ones

Uran at Olympics ? :D

Who remembers Androni having 5 in an attack group of 8 and not getting 1st or 2nd? Can't remember which race that was. Also though I think it was back in 2010, Cofidis put 3 in an attack of 5 in the Tour of Turkey at the end of one stage and ended with 3rd, 4th and 5th. But if we're going with 2010, Sky at Qatar sitting up and letting Mol and Steurs go about 20 minutes up the road, followed in Oman by stopping to go for a leak with 40km to go in an echelon stage were pretty special. Movistar on stage 9 of the Tour this year was pretty horrific - only stage of the Tour I watched, but boy was it bad. Asleep at the wheel for sure. Golden opportunity wasted completely.

Was it 2009 where Rabo put about three people in the break in Omloop then put the rest of the team on the front to chase it back? Also LPR Brakes in the 2009 Giro on every stage in the final week leading the péloton, chasing breaks even on flat stages, despite Menchov only having a depleted Rabo team to help him.

Oh, and the Schlecks in Liège-Bastogne-Liège 2011. I mean, sure Gilbert was likely to win anyway, but at least TRY to do something!

Saxo and Movistar, tour 2013, not attacking Froome while he's isolated

Yea that was one of the biggest fails ever :D

Valverde. Uran made a lot of money last year. He could have played it better, but he was a rich man after that day, Valverde earned nothing today.

Slightly more than 2 years ago, but the Schleck brothers in LBL 2011 where fantastic as well. Hey guys, do you know what a numeric ,ajority is? Something that can win you races (although Valverde doesn't seem to know that either).

Sometimes i also need to relax, i'm not perfect bro but you're a mod, shouldn't you give the example? ;)

To call Valverde dumb today, one would have to pretend he did something different from what he does in every race. He never tries to win when he can instead sit in and take the sprint for a podium place. What is his deal? Does his contract have a huge bonus based on the number of times he makes the podium? Does he have a thing for podium girls?

The issue is that most people think Valverde's a coward, while in most cases he just doesn't have the legs. Today he spent all his energy controlling Nibali on the climbs, which left him empty in the final k's.

Javier Mínguez, Spain's national coach, disagrees.

I don't think it was Valverde being a coward, he had every right to sit on and not pull with Rodríguez up the road. The issue was that he was a fool for missing the key move. Costa timed it well in that final bunch of corners, maximising his chance of getting away, but Valverde hesitated too long on whether to answer straight away and stayed with Nibali when he really should have at least tried to go with him. Too much indecisiveness leading to inactivity on his part creeping into his game in recent years. That's why he's ranked 4th in the world on CQ ranking yet hasn't won a race since February.
