Consider this...

Going into the third and final year of the promotion relegation EF is on 23000 points, and a three year total of 27000 is probably safe.

Could EF's approach be along the lines of "We only need 4000 points, and we have been averaging 11500 points per year previously. We don't need to sign great rider.s"

But I think EF's new signings have been fine and on paper they will have a stronger team in 2025 than in 2024.

With Uran and Bissegger having underperformed in 2024, pretty much the only real loss they're going to feel is Bettiol.
Between Asgreen, Battistella, Albanese and Baudin they should be more than capable of scoring more points than Bettiol, even if some of these riders won't have a great season.
And then they're adding Mihkels and Hobbs, which greatly enhances their sprinting options. Should results in additional points over a season since in 2024 their only rider ever remotely capable of doing anything in flat sprints was Van den Berg.
And then they've added a bunch of neo-pros in 2024, so there's a good chance someone like Ryan, Rafferty or Nerukar may have a breakthroguh in 2025, while their only riders in the declining age are Chaves and Costa, who weren't important point scorers in 2024 anyway.
And then someone like Carthy had an abysmal season in 2024 so he can't go worse than that but if he goes back to his old form, it would be like if they signed a good rider.

With all these new transfers they also have a great squad to potentially farm smaller hilly races for points but I don't think that will be necessary to avoid relegation in 2025.

From PCS...

Transfer surplus

Each year riders leave and come into the team. This statistic shows the number of points that a rider brings or takes from the team. The sum of these points we call the transfer surplus. The list contains riders that have left at the end of 2024 and joined the team at the start of 2025.

So basically they're already on the surplus, even though the surplus is only going to get bigger as they confirm the final few places on their roster.

I thought that roster looked very young. But is it?
Average team age per PCS....

Is EF getting Noah Hobbs after all?

Already 27 riders according to PCS and someone on this forum suggested Chaves had already extended, Cepeda and Shaw may do as well and I even found a news that De Bod was negotiating an extension (though it was a few weeks old, I think).

I was looking forward to having more quick guys on the team.
