El Purito = Pure Epo ??

So does the last 3 days of mountain-top finishes tell us a clean Contador is no better than a clean Rodriguez? Or a clean Contador is no match for a doped Purito? Or that Purito has a better doctor?
Would like to know if Contador's climbing with similar power as he was at the 2011 Giro and if Rodriguez has further improved since the 2012 Giro.
No one could live with Contador's attacks at the Giro, yet he has not managed to shake Purito once. Looks too good to be true.

I personally think there's more to it than the TT and wasn't sure if posting on that thread was correct, hence why I asked about a Purito thread.
It's not even like he's managing to stay at AC's pace. AC is desperately trying to drop him by attacking in massive percentage climbs and not once has rodriguez even looked worried.
To me that says a lot.

Purito, to me, seems doped!

Given the last 20yrs of the sport it does indeed seem that JR is doped. Hopefully in another 20yrs we'll be able to look at a dominant performance without suspicion, trust the riders and teams and have reason to believe in the sport.

The really sad thing is that it is almost impossible to watch these types of stages and performance and not wonder if the riders are cheating. Depressing to the point of turning off.

Wiggins recently referring to 'nonsense' talk is just a bad. He could quite easily put pay to the problem by speaking out in praise of the USADA and breaking the Omerta.

I feel the sport is dying in front of my eyes

Purito seems to me like Rasmussen in 07, it is just imposible to dismiss the fact that this guy is just too good to be true.

I thought this the other day - its the fairly big gear that he roles so effortlessly up very steep climbs.

Go rewatch the 2007 Tour. Rasmussen would be 5 minutes ahead of Jrod if he had raced with his 2007 fitness level.

Ok, I'm not going to criticize your post, seems to me I didn't elaborate more on my post when I compared Purito to Rasmussen, I have no idea how many minutes it would be in differences due to different parcours, competition and all that, the fact that you say chicken would be 5 minutes ahead is irrelevant to my comment, what I meant to say is: I have never seen Purito climb the way he's climbing and TTing like in this Vuelta, it reminded me of Rasmussen in 07 when the chicken was just unbeatable in climbs and a significant improvement in TTs, where in one he exceled but not the point of just annihilate everyone and the TTs well you catch my drift.

What's it gonna take for the little dude to be popped?

Wont happen in Spain that's for sure. But they popped some Spanish guys the year Nibali won, so there is a minute possibility but I cant see it, unless someone in Spain wants Contador to win.

Rodriguez has been following wheels most of the time anyway. Its not like he's killing everybody.

My heart bleeds for the two other recently banned Spanish racers, Its so cruel whats happening to them.

Wouldn't happen in Spain, except for all the times it's already happened (Mosquera, Heras, Santi Pérez)

I noticed the writing on the road on the final climb the other day - cant recall which stage - had 'Mosquera esta dopado' - something like that - i dont speak spanish or basque. The tv camera gave it a lot of tv time...surprised me how it lingered on it for a long time.

Good to see though - cant see that happening in the Tour of Britain - itv filming 'Sky are Dopers inc.' :)

i like the thread title. it's playful and imaginative :D

Interesting spot re Mosquera. I agree it is a positive sign to see such texts on the Spanish roads.
Apart from Millar Britain hasn't been struck by any serial doping scandals yet like Spain has. Plus the brits don't really have a tradition of road cycling, which includes road painting. Did we see anything painted on the roads during the olympics?

He needs to drop Contador for me to label him that bad..

But well.. what did people expect.. 1 team goes team wide doping and gets away with it, ofc others will follow in their footsteps..

Dark years are coming I tell you.
