Dario Andriotto (currently DS) will move into more of a manager type role (team scout?). Two people that could join the staff: Sean Yates (former DS for Discovery, Sky and Tinkoff) and Stefano Zanatta (former DS for Liquigas/Cannondale and Bardiani) , either as DS or one of them as team manager. Jesus Hernandez will continue as DS of course.

Also, the team will consist of around 20 riders, of which about 6 or 7 from the current Continental team, so we should see a big influx of new names.

No chance of ever having Basso and Contador in the team cars?

Well, they do say the best riders aren't necessarily the best sports directors. I think Contador stated on several occasions he has no interest in that role on any team basically, not just for his own team. Basso seems a bit more involved in the team anyway, so maybe, but the manager/mentor type role suits him well I feel.

Has anyone heard any rumors about potential signings? To ride Giro I'm guessing they will need to sign some big names. Only talented youngsters won't cut it. They will bring 6 to 7 riders from Continental team (still TBA) so we can expect around 13-14 new names. They will certainly sign some talents from the Italian amateur circuit but with NTT and CCC in trouble they could benefit and pick up some bargains.

Some ideas

Gogl (good relationship with Alberto and Ivan)

Battistella, Sobrero, Mäder (young talents, may not mind a step down to Pro Conti level??)

Nizzolo?! Although he could get a job at any team I'm thinking, but Italian calendar could be attractive for him. And having Italian champion would more or less guarantee an invite to the biggest Italian races

Mareczko

Moschetti could return? I don't think he has a contract with Trek for next year

Aru as we discussed earlier, or someone like Brambilla could be an option.

To be honest I have no idea what kind of budget they have.

Edit: this seems the ideal time for a comeback

It's hard to see them achieve the level of Alpecin or Arkea. However, to enter the Giro their competition probably is more like Bardiani, Sidermec and Vini Zabu.

Aru would help Eolo a lot getting into races.
Nizzolo and Moschetti should ride on WT level.

I really don't know what bigger names could join them. They could prey directly on their Giro wild card competition.

With two WT teams in jeopardy some riders will be forced to take a step down, however I don't think Eolo will have the budget to get many bargains. They probably only have budget for 1 or 2 semi big names. They can't buy stars like Arkea or Cofidis in the past.

Moschetti is still not at his start of season level after his crash. There's a lot of sprint competition at Trek so he could benefit from a switch. However normally he should race at WT level.

I'm sure they'll be able to fill a decent roster. The names you mentioned from NTT riders feel like a good match. Strange however that there are no rumours of riders joining them, except Aru.

I'd like to see Eolo have some kind of development team for younger riders, with 1-2 experienced riders. CCC's Geschke would be awesome, but I am not sure about the cultural fit. More likely are Visconti, Wackermann, Bataglin. Luis-Leon Sanchez maybe?

Battaglin could be an option. I think Visconti feels at home at Vini Zabu, but I read somewhere that the team could be in trouble. Luisle I think could get a contract with several WT teams.
I agree with the cultural angle, I also expect them to sign mainly Italians and Spaniards. Although apparently Alberto said yesterday on Eurosport they have 5 Italians signed but I am not sure in which context.
I spend last evening browsing through social media to see who follows who but that didn't really offer any interesting insight :p

Rumours about Tirols Samuele Rivi and Friulis Davide Bais (little brother of Mattia) joining from U23 ranks. Furthermore Luca Pacioni and Edward Ravasi should be joining. All based on Tuttobiciweb.
I did notice that DS Jesus Hernandez recently followed Pacioni on Instagram which seemed a bit random. Ravasi could be an interesting signing, taking a step back could help his progress. His first two years at UAE were decent but last two years were poor.

Edit: Pacioni has confirmed the rumor on his Instagram account

Some more info:

Ciro believes Belletti will join. I'd say he is getting old but he should still be able to score some results in smaller Italian races.

And tuttobiciweb also mentions Fancellu and Puppio will be on the team for one year before moving to Trek-Segafredo.Fancellu originally had an agreement with Trek for 2021 and 2022, so this would mean he gets one more year of development at a lower level. I don't think that's a bad thing at his age.
For Puppio I wasn't aware of an existing agreement.

We won't see Aru in EOLO-Kometa colors next year.

"It is not within our reach - explained Basso to Radio 1- microphones. We have a team already structured with young people who want and need to grow in our group. Fabio needs a team to help him relaunch on levels that compete with him, but we don't have the structure or the economic strength to focus on him and satisfy his needs ”

Right, so Jesus Hernandez followed Luca Pacioni a while ago and he is more or less confirmed to be a signing for the team. Jesusito also recently followed the others that are rumored to be joining, Bais, Ravasi, Rivi and Belletti. So let's see who else he followed in the last week or so.

Victor de la Parte - while I thought he'd signed for Total, I couldn't find anything definitive about that edit: was just confirmed by Total
Mark Christian - formerly Aqua Blue Sport
John Archibald - ITT and track specialist
Mattia Frapporti - currently Androni

Especially the two Brits seem random people for him to follow, but also random choices for the team, could it be Sean Yates' influence??

New name to add to the list: Luca Wackermann
That would be an exciting signing :)

Edit: and Vincenzo Albanese recently followed the team's account and was recently followed by Jesus and another staff member

Tuttobici came out with another article this morning, either they've been reading this thread or they've also been social media stalking ;) just kidding

New confirmation of signings Davide Bais, Samuele Rivi, Edward Ravasi, Luca Pacioni.

From Continental team we will see the following step up: Spaniards Alejandro Ropero and José Antonio Garcia, Hungarians Erik Fetter and Marton Dina, Portuguese Daniel Viegas and Italian Alessandro Fancellu. No mention of Antonio Puppio who was named in the earlier article. He would seem a logical choice.

In arrivo are also the following Italians: Manuel Belletti, Mattia Frapporti, Vincenzo Albanese and Luca Wackermann.

Finally, Ivan Basso has been working to secure another rider, Jakub Mareczko.

No mention of the two Brits, but that may not be tuttobici's area of expertise ;)

Now the list of more or less confirmed signings is:

Alejandro Ropero
José Antonio Garcia
Erik Fetter
Marton Dina
Daniel Viegas
Alessandro Fancellu

Edward Ravasi
Luca Pacioni
Manuel Belletti
Mattia Frapporti
Vincenzo Albanese
Luca Wackermann

Davide Bais
Samuele Rivi

Not confirmed but rumoured/speculated:
Jakub Mareczko
Antonio Puppio

And then we have the two British outliers :p

We have 14 names confirmed now, plus 2 rumoured. Alberto said there would be about 20 riders on the team. Hope there will be a couple more signings from outside Italy.
