Tough crowd. You could argue that men's cycling had to evolve through the likes of David Duffield and Phil Liggett. Except that we still have Phil Liggett and Cartoon Kirkby is Duffield de-evolved.
Oh come on, DiscoSport can hardly be said to have some sort of woke anti-weather pro-Thurnberg the-sky-is-falling-in agenda. Reality barely exists for them, they're there to sell pro-cycling.Also, these broadcasters like to go on about climate change ect, I think not having entire broadcasting teams travel with all their equipment around France would probably be a good idea..
his end of race hysteria is invariably unlistenable... If anyone listening to his end-of-race calls doesn't respond, I would be tempted to check their heart rate to see if they're alive..
a rock & a hard place await for me.
between the devil & the deep blue sea.
Ant Mc on BBC... or... Marty Mc on EuSp.
where are Brotherton/Boardman/Simmons??
When you interview riders in English, often not their first language, it would be helpful and even polite to speak the language correctly and clearly.
The person primarily conducting Eurosport rider interviews this year fails on all counts.
Riders regularly don't have a clue what hes saying, even what he is waffling on about,
Sorry to interrupt, but I've stared at ymmv for a minute and I don't know what that means. I don't even know where to start looking.his end of race hysteria is invariably unlistenable.
but, obviously... ymmv
your mileage may vary, it means you might have a different experienceSorry to interrupt, but I've stared at ymmv for a minute and I don't know what that means. I don't even know where to start looking.
i could almost believe that.... I don't know what that means. I don't even know where to start looking.
Except maybe for the times when they get super excited about discussing Gosta Faglum Petterson at key moments in an ongoing race, but can't really blame them for knowing Swedish cycling history.
Oh, but sometimes I see a glimpse of Ludvigsson or Borgstrom in the peloton. Living for those moments! 😀Yeah... not like there's much going on for Sweden in cycling currently.
I don't know who Jez Cox is, but if you're referring to my man Carlton Kirby, I'm glad you brought up his performance today in the Arctic Race in Norway.watching Arctic Race on catchup.
and i know its oft repeated.. but couldJez Cox plz stfu (sorry Delgado, can't help you) for 5mins?
one is subjected to bizarre interior conversations, where he just rabbits on with himself endlessly... questioning himself, answering his own questions.
Jez Cox.. if you ever read this. Plz. Just STFU for 5mins.
Who is the monotone announcer with Jens Dekker at Avenir?
Yeah monotone isn't the proper word. Have it in in the background while working. He doesn't seem to get too excited about things.Pretty sure it's Matt Stephens. Wouldn't call him monotone, though...
That's certainly one way to interpret CKs inane mumbling.I don't know who Jez Cox is, but if you're referring to my man Carlton Kirby, I'm glad you brought up his performance today in the Arctic Race in Norway.
Notice how my man CK manages to time his speaking cadence with the riders. At times they were going so slow that he had to adjust, which enabled him to tell a nice story while the slugs slogged along and completed a pedal stroke. During the course of an agonizingly slow race where the riders were doing 20 rpms, he managed to inform the audience about Norwegian literature and landmarks. He told tales of Norwegian BBq's and informed the non-Norwegian audience about cultural norms and ways of being.
Speaking of interior conversations, I'm getting the impression you might be drunk, tao bleeding heart. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. I fully encourage people of all stripes to alter their senses every now and then.
Godspeed, tao bleeding heart!
