Did they actually finish the sentence?

no...shame really I was enjoying Declans laidback style, and Georgia Williams was a good ex-pro with recent knowledge, and it also sounded like they were out there following the race around in Italy. was it a UCI world feed thing ?

instead we were left with Marty stuck in a broom cupboard with the helicopter fx turned up high, and whilst Becca Charlton might be good at hosting cycling things, whoever thought she could co commentate a race needs a good talking to.

Some good stuff in there, glad its not just me...
also that bloke in the skoda ads comes across as a right dope, I,m surprised Skoda didnt change him for week 2 and then week 3
also... poor Fred......gutted for him.

nope. Never heard from them again during the broadcast. I don't think the commentators knew they were going to be replaced either.
Maybe they had problems with the connection towards the studio and hence replaced the original commentators with people reporting from their home studio?

That actually happened during a stage of the 2021 Giro d'Italia and they had to bring in Mark Rohde & Jörg Ludewig before the connection to Migels & consorts was re-established.

No idea, but it seemed to fine to me, and as someone else said, the quality got worse. And it was actually mid-sentence.

Not Eurosport, but we don't have a generic commentators thread (unless a mod changes the title).

Trine Schmidt: The bit about the food is important. If you have breakfeast too late, you risk having breakfast twice.
Dennis Ritter: It's better the first time.

Yeah, thanks for that mental image!

Legendary quote from Bernhard Eisel today

Vingegaard and Pogacar are just about to catch up to Halland Johannessen:
Eisel: "They are getting closer, but it's not like they're riding a different bike race. [...] They're not flying past them as we're used to."

I got an email and a notice online about Eurosport ending on 22 July. It told me I had to register on Discovery +. Now the contents of the email and the online notice have disappeared.

Am I going mad or has the plan changed?

Discovery + is going to be strangled by MAX at some point, so someone probably realised it would be rather pointless to advice someone to signed up for Discovery+ at this point.

I was in Ireland for a couple of days, watched some of stage 17 on T4G, an Irish language channel. I don't understand a word of it, but all names given in a way that I am used to, and change in tone when there was action to make sure I looked up. The gaeilgeoirí might or might not have been making sensible well informed comment, but a neutralised white sound drone made a nice change from Kirbyisms.

That reminds me of when my parents were in Dublin back in 2011, and the only channel showing the Tour was an Irish language one (probably the above-mentioned T4G). As my mother put it; basically all she understood was whenever the commentators said "Roche".

Im on ITV4, avoiding the Tour de Bantz on ES (even if the unwatchable Bloke is out on the mbike)... but ffs, im straining my ears to hear Cuddles & Matt Rendell with their constant mumbling and trailing-off into sub-audible levels.
Speak UP fellas!!
almost as bad as creepy whispering Pippa York.
