Hmmmm.

I don't think too much criticism of cycling sits well with me. Although it is frustrating how the channel runs its scheduling, Eurosport are the only channel that I can see 2 hours of a stage in (say) Tirreno Adriatico or who consistently show races like Catalunya, Pologne, etc.

Mush as I would love if BBC and others were to commit that much to cycling, it is not happening.

I am actually amazed at how much cycling Eurosport show.

Easy, they are called Eurosport, so they will show you almost everything. Even if it's the relegation batter between two hungarian waterball teams from the third division.

And believe me, even Carlton Kirby is more entertaining than that!

I think the criticism of Eurosport is a wee bit unfair. There are only a few occasions where the coverage suffers because of overlaps. They have so many rights they could do with another channel though.

On British Eurosport at least, the majority of events are shown when they should be.

They already got multiple channels: Eurosport (for each country a little bit different but almost the same), Eurosport 2 and Eurosport International, if I am not mistaken.

But I remember, when my favorite soccer/football-team (whatever you want to call it, I as a German am fine with both) had a friendly, they were showing a stage of Romandie during the first half. And since cycling is not that popular in Germany, many people were very upset. It was just a friendly, but the ****storm on Eurosports' Facebook-page was huge.

the last time german Eurosport covert Romandie must be ages ago, probably before Facebook was created :p

it was on DSF for a while, don't think it has been on german TV at all afterwards

British ES is pretty good, they don't usually delay coverage for very long (if at all) and do show most of the top races. Other channels have the odd race too like ITV with the Tour and Vuelta highlights and Sky with Romandie and the TDU

Spot on - as my own exhaustive list shows, pretty much all WT races (bar TDU, Gent-Wevelgem - which clashes with other events as much as anything else - and Romandie) shown live (or as live if there are other events on, such as with Vattenfall this year). Plus a slew of .HC and .1 races, mostly live. They're also showing highlights of all the bigger British domestic races / crits bar Tour Series which is ITV's. And women's racing gets some coverage too.

Romandie was last on British Eurosport in 2012 but I don't think it was carried in Europe because of it likely being shown on other channels.

Their presentation is low rent and commentary a mixed bag but the coverage itself is comprehensive.

I agree that on the whole we do quite well in the UK for the number of races they cover. There are still some odd choices, though - a number of the late stages of the Vuelta came on quite late in the afternoon, in one case because of a David Cup tennis match between Italy and somewhere else I forget. Can't quite see how that is more important on British Eurosport than the closing stages of a cycle race with a Brit running second.

Switzerland.

Federer probably has more fans in Britain than Froome

That's where they'd be benefit from a 3rd channel available everywhere. Even in cycling they have more rights than they can show on two channels sometimes - Tour of Belgium being shown on their website without English commentary being a recent example - it clashed with the Giro and Tour des Fiords.

For once I preferred Liggett. She was making some dumb comments but I liked her accent and her genuine response at the end of the women's road race. For the most part she was okay.

She's just Dutch, not Dutch-Brit, but if I could speak her language half as well as she speaks English I would be very happy.

I did smile at the attempt to go for native pronunciation of all nationalities' names though - it would be entertaining to hear her alongside Rob Hatch to see who could be most extreme!
