He has been more prone to be inconsistent in the spring. Been hit or miss.

Then often gotten his act together in the summer and finishing the season quite strong.

Of course, Remco wanted to win minor Classics in Mallorca or one-week stage races like Norway, Poland or Valencia this year, but he has gone to the most important ones without the intention of winning them.
He only had that intention to in Valencia, not in major stage races.

Honestly, the perspective that only failed to win races because he didn't want to hasn't done him any favors over the years. For his own sake, he seems to have matured quite a bit in that regard, yet it are fans who remain stuck in the mindset that he only loses when he chooses not to winm or that it’s down to the race routes or some conspiracy against him (the latter being something I’ve actually read quite a bit on social media).

Honestly, did you see him winning this year?

I already said that it’s better to lose to Pogačar in the race than to others, which could easily have happened this year.

I don't think he wasn´t i a form to win, and that would have been hard to come to terms with; now, if he doesn't perform well, it can simply be attributed to a lack of motivation, since he saw it as impossible to beat Pogačar.
And it’s always harder to lose to someone who, until recently, was worse than you like Gall, Skjelmose, Jorgenson, or even Almeida.

Pogi still needs to repay Rogla for his legendary pull during WC'2024, which propelled Pogi to a 100 km successful action.

Rog could for sure have won IMHO. He has the palmares to warrant that belief, and I think it's a matter of motivation, and I think it's the only thing he has really wanted this year.

This might seem a bit opportunistic, but it really frustrates me to look at the Vuelta a Burgos and think that this was the race where he could have gained momentum and hierarchy and trust within the team. Watching the competition, the course profile and the way of RB Bora is trying to work, I really feel he could have been right up there at the front.

I don't think there will be a hierarchy issue within the team. They already rode for him in 2024, and there's no one in the team that has had better results in even this ***ty year. Unless Lipowitz suddenly participates.

Indeed, so I think he’s fine. Seixas had it worse in his TDF prep and did fine. Roglic should still aim for the podium
