Perhaps it would be helpful to require every poster to put in a signature line their five favorite and five most disliked current riders. This might be edifying to everyone when engaged in back and forth discussions. I mean usually you can just tell. but.......

Why would it help?
Why should it be necessary?
Why should the forum operate this way?
Why can I not just lie?

I would be surprised if
a) anyone still uses signatures
b) anyone hasn't checked the box to suppress seeing them

But there is the root of something good in the original post.

I don't spend the hours here that some people do even still I find myself getting caught up in endless loop discussions ie: who is the GOAT, what riders should certain teams bring to certain races etc. and etc. It occurred to me that when entering into some of these discussions it might be helpful when deciding how much of my time to waste to be able to make some sort of an upfront appraisal of some certain other posters focus. Are they fans of cycling or are they fans of cyclist? Yeah, probably a silly idea.
