In the past 5 years, there had been more than five first-timers every year.
2012 gives us 11 names, will that same number resurface again this year? Or will it be less than 6?

2016 - (7) - Yates Bros, Jungels, Dela Cruz, Formolo, Atapuma, Bennett
2015 - (8) - Chaves, Landa, Dumoulin, Meintjes, Amador, Frank, Geniez, Trofimov
2014 - (6) - Aru, Bardet, D. Martin, Barguil, D. Caruso, Kelderman
2013 - (6) - Quintana, Majka, Fuglsang, Betancur, Navarro, Niemiec
2012 - (11) - Pinot, Uran, TJVG, Henao, Rolland, Ten Dam, Konig, Talansky, de Gendt, Intxausti, Brajkovic

I can only include 10 names in the poll.
Those that did not make are as follows

Kangert
Reichenbach
Dennis
Ulissi
Alaphilippe
Gallopin
Felline
Moscon
Hermans
Bakelants
Fernandez
G. Izaguirre

Those active riders who had their first Top 10 more than five years ago are:
Froome (2011)
Mollema (2011)
Voeckler (2011)
Nieve (2011)
Monfort (2011)
Siutsou (2011)
Scarponi (2010)
Porte (2010)
Roche (2010)
LL Sanchez (2010)
Nibali (2009)
Kreuziger (2009)
Tiralongo (2009)
Deignan (2009)
Van Den Broeck (2008)
Pozzovivo (2008)
Contador (2007)
S. Sanchez (2006)
Cunego (2004)
Pellizotti (2003)
Valverde (2003)

Siutsou was 9th in 2011 Giro. That would be still top10 even if you don't include Contador's DSQ.

Thanks. Made the correction already.

Surprisingly I only see Ion Izaguirre and Zakarin and Lopez who will Top 10 this year. Too much talent for new comers to creep in

I would put Zakarin and Thomas as strong odds on to finish top 10 this year. Lopez probably as well if he takes it easy in the Tour and peaks for the Vuelta. The rest I wouldn't be confident of, but I'm sure a couple of them will sneak in somewhere.

Dani Moreno, Samu Sanchez and Kruiswjik also have loads of top 10s between them - and will probably take away more places this year.

For this year i think Zakarin and Thomas.
For next years Lopez and Latour, and i give a chance also to Alaphilippe, Ulissi, Dennis and Gallopin.

Out of the names proposed other interesting riders are Roglič, Bernal, Rosa.
Also next year is Enric Mas (more realistic in 2-3 years but hey)
