does this mean all the Uniballer's fanboys can only hate Floyd because he told the truth about USPS, not that he robbed loads of people from originally lying as he will be paying them back so it wont be stealing or fraud...

well done Landis.

After his ship comes in from the whistleblower complaint?

I commend his decision, well done Floyd. I also think he is planning on a bigger payday from the whistleblower payout than what is likely reality. Is there really that kind of money in this after the vulture lawyers and others take their share? If he was serious he would sell that house with what appears to be a nice view and start paying people back.

Will you do the same? Could you pay back the wasted 30 second I spent reading your post?

Loser. Floyd is a bigger man than you.

Sounds good...

I must say he sounds very sincere, and looks more squared away than he has seemed recently (I don't think I've seen any photos/video of him since the Tour of CA, however). Hopefully it is a step forward for him. I must point out that he is expressing his intent to pay people back, although it appears he doesn't have the resources to do so now. The cynical view would be that it's a good PR move, but I hope it's more than that.

I'm sure they will not let that color their hatred any.

That's our boy Floyd! We knew he'd do this.
Since the first leaked email, he's been all class.

One man CAN clean up the world, after any amount of pooing on it. Really Floyd wasn't worse than the other dopers. He just cae around, others didn't. And he was more talented at cycling.

I truly hope this becomes a reality. I believe Floyd came clean to reconcile his guilt. Now with this commitment to repay, and subsequent follow through it would bolster my viewpoint. I think the reason for the whistleblower suit is simply to get the wherewithal to repay the fund contributors. I don't think Floyd is the type to be after the money. Just as I think Floyd initially cheated to win the TDF and not for the monetary gains it would provide. He just doesn't seem that materialistic to me. (Then again, maybe I am naive:rolleyes:)

Huh. I hope it's not a PR stunt.

It's one thing to apologize, which in itself is good, but doing what is in within one's power to "make it right" is an altogether deeper level of character, humility, and strength.

Some would only say, "gee I'm really sorry" and run away.

Floyd announced today that he will pay back those who donated to his fairness fund.

what with all the noise about Contador and his meat problems, Mr. Torri in Italy, Walsh's interview, those other Spanish dopers getting caught, the dope dealers in Ricco's family circle, etc etc.... ,maybe Floyd just needed to do / say something to get back in the public eye, so to speak, say he'll pay back the money, even though he has none. He needs the attention.

For what its worth, I like Floyd.

Hmm, perhaps he ain't such a bad person after all.

Oh well he's practically been banned for 4 years now. I wouldn't mind him coming back to the Protour peloton at all.

Looks like Riis will now need a GC rider, maybe Floyd can send in an application?

The only bad thing about this is I won't be able to rag on those who put in for it. The number of I told you so's I got to say, and apologies I got in return when he admitted to it were priceless!

Still good on Floyd in paying them back. If he can afford to buy a place where he is now he can afford to pay them back, piecemeal though not lump sum :D

Does anyone have any info on how to file a claim?
Is the Website/YouTube Vid up yet?

Be neat if Floyd can do some personal appearances and write refund checks.
I like Floyd - still consider him the TdF winner in 2006.

"Landis said his first priority is to repay smaller donors -- a group whom both he and Henson estimated contributed roughly $300,000 to the fund. To do this, Landis plans to create a form and post it on his currently inactive personal web site, floydlandis.com, asking individual donors to provide documentation. That could take the form of a canceled check or an autographed picture or other item that was received in exchange for a donation -- or even a simple written description of the fundraiser the person attended. Other donations may be traceable through Paypal records."

I didn't give anything to the fund. Looks like I saved some dough on the front end and time on the back end applying for the refund

Floyd wants nothing more than to rejoin the peloton. After doing all those years of lying all he needs now is to find his dignity, talent, will to win once he gets all of those he can jump right back into pro racing again. Maybe they can set up an email account that nobody can track so if he tries and extort some race entries nobody will know about this time. I think he should go to Kinko's and get a 100,000 "I'm really sorry..for real this time" cards printed up..it will be a real time saver. His event here in NYC at the Brooklyn Brewery was one of his highest cash yields so I can't wait until he returns to return his ill-gotten cash I wasn't there the first time but to watch him in action will be worth the price of admission
