Raceoftruth said:Think he has done the jersey proud! Will be very interested to see how his career pans out! He will probably have some big decisions to make! Arguably our strongest pursuiter on the track, shown well in tt, classics and I think 21st in dauphine overall, without really specifically targeting anything! Think after the olympics next year we may see him do the wiggins diet, and go for a grand tour gc!
L'arriviste said:I'm just relieved that, with guys like Thomas and Stannard coming up, we're going to finally see a new wave of Hunts and Hammonds instead of the standard-issue pistard TT/sprint specialist in the mould of Boardman, Wigans, (David) Millar, Cavendish ...
Please no. Why work against your strengths. There are way more talented gc riders than gt, at a younger age too. However I'n the classics he appears to be a massive talent.Raceoftruth said:Think he has done the jersey proud! Will be very interested to see how his career pans out! Jamsque said:I've said elsewhere, but I'll say it again: I hope 2012 is G's last year on the track. If he sticks to the road and keeps progressing the way he has been, he could win a lot of races. I agree that he ought to stay chunky and target the classics rather than slim down for GC.

In all seriousness, he is a good bike rider.
Roland Rat said:Looking at this year's course, it could be one for Swift, Blythe or Cav. Any of those would grace the jersey.
It's so nice that the likelihood is the jersey will be on the continent for the majority of the next 10 years, unlike the past where we were lucky to see it outside of the UK. I remember being excited as a young teen when Yates wore the bands in the TdF, hopefully that will soon become the norm.
Jamsque said:Yeah, that's why it kinda annoys me when the Rob Hayles' of the world win it, because it means I never get to see the jersey in big races.
