For those who dont know the 2011 tour will start with a sprint stage, in Passage du gois, a peninsula which twice during the day becomes an island as the road to the rest of france is flooded, so the departure will have to be timed well, and could be a spectacle.
The second stage will be, as i mentioned, a 23 km team time trial in les essarsts.
It will then continue anti clockwise, through western france in the following days, then turning into the pyrannes at the end of the first week. After 3 stages and a rest day in the pyranees there will be the transision stages, and then the main event, the alps.
One of those stages will be a mtf on alp d huez.
I am guessing there will be 2 itts, one long 40-50k one in the last few days, and eithere a 20k one in stages 5- 12 or a mountain tt up alp d huez. (or perhaps both so 3 itts)
The last stage will be the ceremonial sprint again.
