Greetings.
I just noticed a nice crack forming at the bottom bracket of my Specialized RoubaixPro (61cm equiv) carbon frame. The crack is appearing where the aluminum crack housing meets the carbon. I can't imagine it could be repaired, and honestly I'd be afraid to ride hard even if it could be. So, with that in mind, there are a million frames out there and I'm likely not familiar with 99% of them.
I'm 6' 5" and about 190. So I can put out some torque when climbing. I don't do anything too crazy by any stretch, but do like to climb some L.A. area hills/mountains once in a while.
Here's the rub; at the moment I can't spend close to what I'd like to spend. Someone recommended a Bianchi Infinito CV suggesting it was perfect for me & my style. But WAY out of my price range right now.
I might even consider aluminum, but have to admit I'm in love with the modern style of frames like the S-Works and their aggressive looks.
I also want to stay away from a used (even slightly) carbon frame as that scares me a bit.
I'd love to stay under $1,000, which I know eliminates the vast majority of frames that likely popped into your head.
Any advice?
Thanks much!!
