So.. who is going to remind him that Contador actually raced the giro, dominated it, made the nationals, raced and made the tour despite the bad luck and had already raced and won other stage races prior to that?

The sport would be better without the shlecks. we need guys with a strong personality, that's true.. but arrogance, stupidity and hypocrisy must have their price.

good riddance.

People should also stop lumping both Schlecks together. Fränk is a serious rider, usually. He's been having a crap year, but it looks more and more like that has to do with team shenanigans - see Evans in 2009.

Frank Schleck

Is it me or is it a case that Frank Schleck avoids any responsibility in regard to team leadership?

He's now come out and said he doesn't want to be a a leader in the Tour becuase he can't keep his good form. With the greatest respect to the Tour de Suisse it's not exactly the toughest or longest stage race on the calender - my understanding is most riders use it as a tune up for the Tour (as is the case with the Dauphine). Yes he did more attacking than he has done in other races in recent years but to say he can't keep his good form (is he having a laugh) - he came second and it was hardly to a rider who you would say is a great stage racer (in Rui da Costa).

He's remarked about doing the Giro but he pulled out early and was a late addition so he can't say he was peaking for this race - what's going on with the Schlecks and Radioshack? I thought Bruynell was just what the Schlecks needed to make them an awesome force but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Is it a case that the reason why the Schlecks left Saxo Bank was because Byarne Riis was tough on them and did what was needed for success but the Schlecks spat their dummies when the Leopard owner came to them offering the world (and the rest is history as they say).

No need to be so aggressive towards frank.
Its not as if he wanted this to happen.

maybe you are right..

I just realized that the only reason that makes me dislike frank is andy. he actually races and likes it.

wouldn't the smart move be another team, far from andy?

the comparison made by frank is totally inappropriate

sorry but that's one of the schleck's quotes i certainly dislike....

Exactly!

Do you think a rider like vino or contador would even think about saying something similar?

they would say:"ok.. i cannot win.. so what is the point of being here?oh.. to bring them hell. makes perfect sense."

He was the best climber in the Tour de Suisse and was easily on the best form of all the contenders.

He has been on form since the Ardennes and to maintain such a peak is not feasible.

And no that isnt the reason behind them leaving Saxo, though it is partially the reason behind them moving to RSNT

Yes the comparison sucks ****. One because as c&c already noted it isn't even true what he says because Alberto raced a lot of races and won the Giro and was still pretty awesome in the Tour. And how can he even compare himself to Alberto? Alberto raced a much harder Giro and won, while Fränkie just dropped out when things started getting interesting. But now that Alberto failed in the Tour Frandy have another excuse to never race another GT. We also heard that from Hog.

Yes! But hey we can't expect every rider to be like Fabs, Vino, Alberto. I wish it would be like that.

Well Franks and Kim's statement could just as well be wellaimed facepalm to Bruynell for starting Frank in the Giro.

In any case Frank appear to be a far more seroius rider than Andy, though he has begun to copy some of Andys whining (in last years Tour and this years Giro for example)

You can't compare schleck to contador.......

of course it's wrong to compare them....

but actually that's what frank does in that interview, comparing himself with alberto:eek:

i also think this is a strategy by the shack, frank will be in super shape for the climbs, and i don't know from where you guys understood that frank won't peak in le tour

that interview puts all the pressure now on klodi:D oh boy

The usual "trick" Schlecks do on the media to downplay rival's success and hide their failures. I think their target are casual fans who only see TdF:confused:

This began with Sastre in Alp d'huez so...

Dont u remember twitter-gate? (the twitter war between Frank and Rasmussen)

Btw I was close to add Fleche Wallone too, but after looking it up it was only Andy who whined. Fränk > Andy any day of the week.

Anyways, do u reckon he might be trying to pull him self out of the Tour to be ready in the Vuelta for Andy? I dont think so, but then again u never know (0;...

It's the disease, c&cfan.

Frankie said everything right. Damn, they know the things waaaaaay better than you sitting in a chair and imposingly bashing anyone you dislike. Deal with it!

Yes I always thought Fränk was more grown-up than Andy but apparently he also lacks the brain-to-mouth filter.
