Well obviosuly Andy Schleck is possible future 'winning' GT star

And from obvious I'd say Hagen, Thomas, Degenkolb or Sagan for monuments from the young stars.

Henao or Froome I my picks to be a future GT stars :D Dunno if you can count Froome as one :p

After a quick search i could not find a thread for the future winners of GTs and monuments? If there is 1 and i missed it i am sorry, but if not this could be a fine place to discuss them :)

You've left out the word "potential"... if we had a thread for "THE" future winners of GTs and monuments we'd all be making a fortune at the betting shop.

Thats a good post actually.

I came in here to mention Rafal Majka but have to admit that some are very good choices (and that others you are clearly making fun of Ryos - Colombians will win everything stance).

Well Henao and Betancur especially, are probably the best choices.

Also Yonathan Munsalve (or whatever his first name is).

Also, in b4 Dekker says Kelderman.

I guess I will have to admit that I was being a bit of a troll in that post by posting only Colombian riders.

hard to say. I think a future tour winner can be quintana. because the tour would suit him well and he is an hors category talent

Keldermann? Is that some German upstart?

His strength is long, steep climbs, not so much tempo climbs or time trials... so yes, the Tour seems perfect for him ;)

My bet is on Pinot. He'll win his first Tour (next year).

Quintana I agree as well as a number of Columbians perhaps, Henao which I missed also from my other list.

quintana is actually really good on long tempo climbs and long distance itt (for his size) he isn;t explosive so giro will be harder

henao I don't know after this year, same with betancourt. maybe he'll turno into a classics guy. even when he won giro bio in incredible course. and killed everyone in steep and high mountains there I looked at how he was build and he is no climber like henao by looking at him. however for colombiabn this doesn't mean much as many colombian riders can be very heavy and are still climbers, especially in europe. he is a massive talent though

Im quite sure its a matter of time when Mollema will win his first GT. He's also a good candidate for Lombardia and Liege.

In other monuments i guess Sagan (MSR the most obvious choice), Hagen (MSR or Flandres) and Degenkolb (Roubaix but it will took him at least few years) are good picks.

From younger guys i would say Pinot is a future GT contender but he needs to switch team first and focus on Vuelta/Giro before he tries Tour as a main goal. Another candidate is Ulissi, he may reach podium in Giro before 25.

I cant see any Colombian winning GT tbh. But i wish them all the best :)

Yeah, we saw that in Castilla y Leon... dropped the field on the penultimate (steep) climb, and got dropped himself by 20-odd riders on the final climb, which was basically a false flat.

Cue some story about the wrong gear choice.

Don't know about that... he can't actually make a difference on climbs. And his TT isn't great either. But who knows, Nibali won a GT as well.

Mollema only has a small shot at the Vuelta and only if he can face off against riders of the Cobo - Froome level again, which seems unlikely.
