Garmin Cervelo Dismiss Matt White

Posted on this topic in the other forum, just amusing that super clean Garmin didn't dismiss him on the spot, but instead only used it to dismiss him when he revealed he was joining Green Edge.

Or did JV only find out about this in the last week?

As far as White is concerned - nothing surprising, White and Stephens will be a great team :)

Doubt this one has much to do with doping. But they managed to get rid of White before he jumps ship and it might help them hold on to some of their young Australian talent when Green Edge tries to recruit them.

Of course, the Lowe incident is fishy but the timing is fishier.

Sacking him seems a little extreme if it was just a VO2 max test, there has to be more between White and del Moral.

VO2 Max test? Yeah, right. Vaughters and White know very well what type of treatment Moral really gives.

Matty's pretty chilled about it. GE is taking up all his time and the amount of coin being kicked in would make JV weep with envy. Winners are grinners

I think it would be more likely so they could sully his name as a doping enabler if we're going down that track.

About bloody time. White is sooo dodge. I'm surprised he lasted this long.

Worries me that White got to others in the team for some special treatment.

Ohhhh if only we were back in the Cofidis days with Stuey. Hey I'd snort it!

Ha aha ha!

Yeah right. Green edge on the Aussie dollar bigger than Garmin-Cervelo?

No chance.

GC will be the biggest classics team this year.

Re the timing, I wonder if it has come out because of that other investigation. del Moral would be one they would want to question - I wonder if he handed over all his records. Or Lowe was providing information on what del Moral did, with a view to his time as USPS doctor.

If Lowe had doped on Garmin, what does that say about their internal testing? Or does it add more to the questions about Don Catlin's position?

Either way, it's pretty clear what type of team Green Edge is going to be. All we need now is for Fat Pat to come along and say "Green Edge is exactly the type of team we need in cycling".

It could be the reason that they got rid of Lowe. Maybe he will fit in real nice with Zajicek.

If you don't think White will fit in well with Stephens and Bannan, you haven't been paying attention.

Birds of a feather, etc etc

For those who are more in the know, does Lowe have a reputation for being a charger? If so, FMD, he was doing it wrong. I'm not joking, I would be asking for a freaking refund.

Does this make me cynical to think that is just a PR move from JV, or he is actually genuine here?

Lowe has been very ill. He had Epstein Barr virus amongst other things. I doubt that a doping program would of helped him get results.

I don't think it is a PR move on Vaughters behalf.

Hog, once again you are confusing rumour and fact. GE is backed for up to A$40m over two years (that's about the same as US$40m at the current exchange rate). How much does JV have to play with????

There is a chance that the timing of this could be because the Lowe-White-Moral link was about to be revealed by a source external to Slipstream. Vaughters might be trying to get ahead of the news and limit the damage.

Note that on the same day Dekker comes out and praises Vaughters for showing him the true path to enlightenment. Coincidence?

Aussie and US dollars have parity these days.

A world champion and a bunch of top tens in GTs. That should about cover it.

Where did you hear that, from another forum, or an associate of yours? Genuine question as well.
