How long will it take?
I currently work at a pace building 5-6 frames per month. In addition to pending orders, I leave room for the occasional frame repair, an emergency or three, and the annual batch of frames I’ll need to make for my cyclocross team. With the number of orders currently in the queue, the estimated time for delivery of new commissions is seven to eight years. Please contact me for the proper order forms.

I work in Quality Assurance as the Test Manager at my company.

Personally, I am pretty happy that they are choosing the embarrassment of delaying go live. The alternative is what most companies do - release the thing to the public with large lists of known issues and immediately start working on the next version with the fixes that they will promote as 'updated'.

Come on, dude. This is Garmin we are talking about. What this must mean is that the pedals are so incredibly problematic that they cannot even beta test them on their customers like they do with their other products.

No real product goes out the door without some degree of known/unkown issues. Ever.

Garmin has had some issues with products sure, but keep some perspective. Its not like they are Tacx. If you want to really feel ill, have a look at the tacx forums and see what people think of their release strategy

Garmin are far from perfect but lets not get too excited. I have seen a LOT worse.

Like I have said before in the previous similar thread. The guy I know who's working on them says the strain gauges are $6|^! They work when they want to and they play dead when they want to as well. Said guy does not work for Garmin. Then, jamming them in the axle has its own set if issues. Not that they won't get it but they're not having fun getting there.

+1. I too think it is good that they are being honest. There have been too many times that I've felt like the chump who has beta tested products that have not turned out well (often Polar in my personal experience) with no recourse or compensation. I am personally happy with my Garmin products (705 and 305) and their customer support, and I think this type of announcement keeps their current and future customers informed and educated. The news is not great, but at least there is no second guessing.
