German doctor fined in cycling doping probe

FREIBURG, Germany — The doctor of a former top German cycling team was fined Wednesday in connection with a doping investigation.

Dr. Andreas Schmid agreed to pay a fine equivalent to three months’ salary, prosecutors said.

The prosecutors dropped a criminal probe of Schmid and his Freiburg University clinic colleague Lothar Heinrich for doping activities with the former Telekom and T-Mobile cycling team. However, they decided to fine Schmid for violating medicine distribution laws.

I like this thread! It had a subject - which belonged in another forum - but apart from the initial post nothing has been on-topic, but nobody's complained about it. And the thread hasn't been really hi-jacked as hardly anybody posts in it. And nobody's found it offensive enough to report it either (it seems). And basically - if the initial post was moderated - it wouldn't even need to be moved or locked!

Amazing - it's like a secret thread out in the open...
