the problem for me is not the min but the max for posts..........

introduce a smaller max character size for posts to ensure members get to

the point.... while members sit back thinking that their post is the best ever i

can't be troubled to read their self satisfied ramblings...on.......and on

Yes, get rid of the character limit, I don't even know why we have a character limit.

People would just spread what they have to say to 2 or more posts. besides sometimes the long posts are insightful, especially when they are made by the members that know their stuff.

done

10char

I am a bit perplexed as to what done in the quoted post refers too.
Ferminal can you please, when you have nothing better to do, explain what you meant to convey by the word done?
Thank you

Nothing, I was attempting a piece of comedy by suggesting that it had been changed even though the post still required 10 characters.

Fair enough. I am too close to tears to see comedy in anything at the moment.

If your post is less than 10 chars then it is probably worthless.

How many "+1" or "Me too" or "LOL" posts do we really need?

Thank you only takes 9 characters. That is what annoyed me.

I agree with you, all those kinds of posts are pretty much worthless, but there are plenty of responses where you don't need to say much that aren't worthless where the 10 character limit is just an annoyance.
It's especially annoying during races, where you want to just tap out a short reply but have to go back and make sure its 10 characters.

Maybe Susan or one of the other mods could tell us if there is any chance at all of the limit going away?

No chance...

I think the only thing that annoys me is that when I have to post something short during a race I have to count the characters. Imho it would be a lot less annoying if, for example, the submit button would dynamically appear only once you have typed 10 characters. It would be more straightforward and less stressful when you're in a hurry.

If I could write a post with only three characters, I would write a big LOL at the people who think CN is going to listen to their requests for improvements to the forum software.
