My hair & me are so excited about the latest news that we'll have @Alpecin as german sponsor next year! No more bad-hair-days from now on?!

So, Chris Horner on his way to Giant Alpecin next year?

alpecin is crazy for sponsoring this. they should absolutely demand the uci, to let riders without helmets on mountain top finishes and mountain time trials. it's an absolute disgrace to how riders look. i never seen in my life a cyclist going up a mountain with a helmet on, it's insane

Kivilev chrashed and died riding relatively slowly (35 Kph) on a slight uphill stretch.

Imo it was more insane to see riders all getting rid of the helmets when they hit the last climb back when that was the rule.

Anyways, thats OT.

riders should all throw their helmets to the fans on the first gradients. it's a win win situation. sorry but kivilev's crash has nothing to do with crashes on the mountains uphill. they really don't go at 35 kmph not even riis 96. there are bigger chances to get struck by lightning and die then crash and die while climbing without a helmet on a mountain. it's stupid and a shame that fans don't complain about this to brian cookson. riders lost their charm when helmets began to be mandatory

there are more important things to complain about than the helmet mandatory rule.
if you follow cycling you know a cyclist even if has helmets and glasses.

and after helmets became mandatory they even use them in training (sauf pozzato horner and ricco :D ) and almost every recreational cyclist use the helmet every day. you just have to get used to it. I never ride without the helmet now, when I began riding few years ago I could not stand it.
throwing the helmets at the foot of the climbs was a bit dangerous. you keep it from start to finish. and they weight 200 grams, so no big deal.

wow finaly a new german team in cycling and another dutch team less. sounds good
Lol, there's almost 2 hours between your first reaction and this... you thought "oh wait, I forgot to troll"?

The options for cheesy ad campaigns are endless. And indeed, it's good to see a German team at the highest level again.

I wear a helmet, but on longer uphills I always attach it to my frame, I really hate riding uphill with helmet.

This is exciting, and Giant already has some of the best German riders so that works out nicely.

When there was talk a while ago about a new Alpecin team being set up I thought it was a publicity stunt, I never thought something would actually come from it.

You don't have to make a mistake yourself. Think about someone riding downhill at 70km/h, crashing in to you...

Think of the compounded two days a week I spend on the road, driving, for my work.

Or the giant wolve that could've attacked me when I was hiking in the Pyrenees. Or the heart attack at night. Or robbers. Or IS. Or America with faulty guidance systems.

It's just f***** hypocritical to say its alright to do road cycling to kids, as long as they wear a helmet uphill. Doesn't mean you can't, put please don't try to argue that it is the difference between life and death.

Where exactly did I say that?

I just wanted to say that going uphill isn't necessarily safer than other parts of a route.

i will soon take this, no helmets on mountain top finishes to oleg tinkov. he's a man who must understand and talk to cookson. cycling should be also about style. helmets on mountain top finish is just pathetic and ridiculous.
and also getting your helmet off in front of the mountain is something quite poetic.

When you get hit by enough cars while cycling, chances are you may decide to keep your helmet on. I know i do now, but to each their own. On topic, there is now an apparently cyclist-friendly hair product company I can use to pretty up after my post-ride shower. :p
