Following in the spirit of last years mountain tt thread i have included a poll.

This tt however is less severe.

Nevegal is 8km at 7.4% so hard but not as hard as Kronplatz.

Moreover flat skills could come into play. First 2k is -2.3% and next 3k is 2.9% before climb starts 6km in.

Dont know if some riders might want to use handlebars for that section.

Once the climb starts it gets tough. The hard section is the first 4k of the climb which is an average of 10.3 %. Towards the end it gets easier as can be seen above.

The fact that its a tt obviously means people will be forced to race hard.

Any guesses on what the times will be like. Im guessing around the 32minute mark (wild guess there).

I would love to vote for someone else then Contador, but since he will already have an advantage on his opponents starting the climb I really cant see anyone beating him.

Rujano for the win here? Totally impossible., not even in top 10.
Even in his bad years (2006-2009) in Europe it was in mountain time trials that Rujano popped up in the top 10 and even the top 5.. and that was an out-of-form, not playing for the GC Rujano.
How can you say it's impossible he'll finish in the top 10? Ignorance?

Yup, you're right, this guy has NO chance whatsoever at finishing top 10 in a mountan ITT tomorrow

It's not just a mountain TT though, there's a nice chance to be at a 30 second deficit to the field by the start of the climb.

Brainpower will have some relevance - there are still some old-school full genius riders who forget about aerodynamics when not on their TT bike and will pay in the beginning.

The Murcia ITT was not only uphill either. He did fine there.
Just saying.

I even found a result in one of the past years, where he played no role in the GC, was terrible in the mountains, and still finished 44th in a pancake flat ITT. He's definately not a J-Rod, Gadret or Arroyo on the flat

Rujano isn't a crap TT rider. He's actually quite decent on the flat ones as well. A lot better than Purito.

Dont know if some riders might want to use handlebars for that section.

I think all the riders will want to use handlebars

Some might use clip ons. It should still be possible to stay below 6.8 kg.
