Yeah, disappointing they cancelled it, apparently Shreks were going to enter, but the organisers realised there were too many downhill sections, so to stop the whinging, they cancelled the whole event.

Apparently, the competition from the 4th GT finally took it's toll.
It's taking all the interest, so nobody is following the Giro anymore.
Also, many top riders prefer to take their mid-season, top up tan breaks in California, rather than on the slopes of the Zoncolan, Mortirolo, Marmolada, Stelvio etc.

The Tour of California has totally eclipsed the Giro. Nobody wants to go to Italy anymore, and eat the wonderful food, sip the fine wines and ride through the historic landscape. They all want to ride around towns in silicone valley, and see the American stars of Hollywood on the podiums.:D

Yeah, right.........

What?

Some here think the fourth GT is the TDU!

...of course, I know that the real 4th... or 6th or 12th GT is really this year's second ever USAPCC...

(which, sadly will not be coursing through my burg this year.)

I thought there was going to be a second Aussie Tour and named Tour a Little bit over to the Side.

Good one. Maybe the Kiwis could start one called Tour Down Under and Turn Left?
