I just hope that we don't have ITT's as the last stage of a GT which happened in all three GT's in 2024. Not much GC action occur and it seems a waste of a stage.

The Giro had a very good distribution of it's stages I find. The first Time Trial came before the first awaited hard stage, the second TT came before the Alpine block started. The overall race design of the Giro this year was great, especially with the early action on day one and two. Starting from stage 4 though, the stages were designed quite poorly.

Yes I agree, or Colle San Carlo but Pila would be fine.

I am confusing the 2023 Giro with the 2024 edition. Anyway, the point stands there is little GC action with an ITT in stage 21.

Yeah, I don't know what to tell you, but the 2023 Giro also didn't finish with a TT.

No ITT is a farce, the one thing I'll give the Giro credit for in 2023/24 was the respectable amount of ITT km.

I think he's on about the stage 20 TT up Monte Lussari, which absolutely suffocated the racing in the stages prior. Watching Ineos tempo up the Giau/ Tre Cime was pretty depressing.

the article is about the stages in Friuli, so I would think "no ITT" also only refers to those - meaning there will be no ITT in Friuli, while the initially planed Grande Partenza in that region would probably have included one.

What a shame. I had hoped that the Gorizia stage would be an ITT.

Regarding the Col Drusciè, the Giro has actually finished there back in 1977. I also heard some rumors off Le Gruppetto that the final weekend would have a stage in the Aoste Valley, followed by Finestre/ Sestriere, similar to 2015. Then a final TT in Rome starting in the Vatican.
I don't know how true this is, maybe some of you on here ITK could help.

But that TT very much doesn't qualify as having little GC action, which was the thing @yaco was complaining about. In other words, they simply are wrong.

From the elevation, it looks like they finished at the finish area of the ski races. TBF it would thematically make sense if they did the same next year.
