It's a bit of a weird situation when there are more than 9 semi-credible options you want to put in this kind of poll...

I wonder how many people will vote Vingegaard courtesy of not reading the poll question.

Big question for 3rd is wtf happened to Red Bull today and if they're gonna continue whatever today was.

Smart money is probably on Arensman right now

i was about to make the podium poll , i think that would be more informative

and gee with the sixth shortest odds despite his crash on stage 2 would obviously be an option ...

So you don't like waffles believe Derek Gee will finish second?

I don't think I'll have any idea until after the time trial, and then I will be wrong anyway.

I would have liked to include both him and Piganzoli, but I thought the least subjective way of doing this was doing the current top-10 minus Scaroni. Gee would also barely be in 10th without the time loss on stage 2, and I didn't really want to boot Storer either when he has more or less climbed with Gee so far.

Arensman was 10th on the arguably more representative MTF two days ago, there is no smart money right now because nobody is even remotely close to a 50% shot.
I've never claimed I'm not overreaction FC.

But I expect Arensman to crush the TT and he also is a unicorn in that he's a big guy that somehow loves the multiclimb mountain stages more than unipuerto ones.

Today was the first time since the 2022 Vuelta that he finished higher than 6th on a GT mountain stage without being in the break. I'm not convinced this was not simply being on a good day.

its not subjective to go by betting odds when the gc has riders you are going to remove anyway

It's not an easy question at all, not only because there's no clear 3rd guy but also because the TT will reshuffle the GC. Gall will lose time: however his advantage over the rest is good and it's not like all other guys rule in TTs, even Jonas maybe won't be that good on dead flat course. Look at Eulalio: they way he rode today even he might end up on the podium! Maybe I will think about it tomorrow.

Betting odds have a degree of bias built into them (although it's admittedly not as bad when there are no British riders involved).

Biggest question as we approach the rest day.

Is Jonas Vingegaard under-appreciated as a GT king?

The man has 2 Tours to his name against the biggest freak of all time.

Picked up a Vuelta with minimal fuss last year and would have another if he wasn't neutralised by the presence of Kuss.

Now he has picked up 2 stages in the Giro. Has out-climbed all his competitors without even hitting the major mountains and looks poised to take pink. Let's not forget, he won Paris Nice and Catalunya this year at his ease.

Has the dominance of Pogacar skewed how we view the achievements of Jonas??

He's one of the best climbers ever and would be a 5-time TdF champion without Pogacar. I don't think Jonas is that underrated, I think people realize he's one of stage-racing ATGs.

I think it's close to impossible to predict at the moment. Arensman does build into races but he was quite bad on Friday, and today was quite a unique stage. He's also prone to between one and three bad days a Giro.

Hindley has the experience but today was not great. Pellizzari was good in the first week, then bad this weekend – tired or ill? It is odd to lose this much form this quickly without there being an external reason.

Eulalio has the pink jersey boost, but how will he be once he loses it? Gee is growing in form and is a diesel so will be consistent in the mountains stages, but I also don't see him outclimbing many of the others if they have a good day and he has a time disadvantage to make up

I'm mostly interested in how much time Gall will lose to Vingegaard on Tuesday. 1 minute? 2 minutes? More? Will he still be a close GC rival after the TT?

He lost 1'40'' during 33 km during the last Tour (which would scale up to 2'07''). Vingo had rather a poor day but Gall wasn't nearly as good as now.

He paced the whole way and then got jumped at the end by the guys who followed his wheel and he’ll put 2 minutes into everyone bar Jonas in the TT
