Between this and Tro Bro Léon at the weekend, at least the boring old UAE-Visma domination is being done in much more interesting ways while it's their lower tier riders doing the winning. Would really rather it not still be those teams doing the winning, but at least this way it's entertaining en route.

I did find Eulalio's last kilometer strange. It felt like a agreed victory.
If the accident has left him in such bad , he'll likely be DNS tomorrow. If he wasn't injured, that last kilometer was very strange.
Tomorrow is completely flat, if he can ride a bike he'll ride, even is he's suffering the whole day due to today's crash. It might be the only time he's having the maglia rosa, it would be crazy to DNS (unless there's an objectively good reason for that)

This Giro might be a lot like 2024 were the first few stages were surprisingly good but at the end that couldn't make up for the complete lack of a gc fight. Well, lets enjoy it while it lasts.

Good breakaway stages are basically the selection bias cheat of rating GTs anyway

I don't have Pereiro winning the 2031 Tour on my bingo card, personally.

Óscar SEVILLA might still be riding then, mind.
So fun fact, Oscar Pereiro, whose last relevant (PCS-listed) win (the 2006 TdF) took place before Paul Seixas was born, is actually younger than Oscar Sevilla.

As a bonus: Sevilla potentially podiumed the Vuelta a España before any of today's stage podium finishers were born.

I say potentially because he did it on the day after his 25th birthday, the very same day our current 24 year-old Maglia Rosa was born. Sevilla finished within the front group in a 2.1 race in Azeirbaijan today.

I'd assume you meant Femke Bol?
The finale certainly reminded me of that.

(In case Kok was what you meant, what's the reference?)

Not a reference, but merely a way to avoid using profanity. Tom Crabbe would of course have been more cycling related, but it was Kok who came to mind first.

Emotional interview with Arrieta at the finish, always nice to see.

He was looking down at his crank so often I thought he was having a mechanical

They also called Scaroni the stage winner when Silva won the 2nd stage. Why does Migels have a personal vendetta against Silva?
I doubt he has one and he wasn‘t the one who announced they would interview Eulalio, that was just an accident as well. But on the 2nd stage, after figuring out it was Silva he called him Giulium Giuliomero Thomas Silva, which are some terrible mispronunciations of Guillermo. But I doubt it‘s something personal, nobody‘s told Bengsch that the Ecuadorian rider isn‘t called Narvarez for years either. Migels has also somehow confused Ghebreigzabhier (or Ghebreizgabhier as he calls him although that may be correct, I‘m not an Eritrean pronunciation expert) with Sobrero multiple times this Giro in situations where Ghebreigzabhier had already worked hard and been dropped. I think he just likes to say his name.

I wasn't really serious about the vendetta. At least Migels mostly focuses on the race nowadays. I remember when I started watching cycling, he would ignore attacks of a GC rider just to finish his story about some race in Southern Mongolia in 1928.

Been silent a bit, but sincerely enjoyed yesterday's drama stacked finale with that original outcome. And both having a prize makes it even better.
