CN coverage

Hope the flagship venue for anything and everything about cycling provide worthwhile coverage (including pictures, bulletin info, etc) about this race:cool:

Strange that things held together long enough that Vos could take enough time bonuses to overhaul the deficit she got from not actually winning the stage. Must be pretty rare that somebody takes the lead in stage 1 without actually winning the stage (sans prologue races anyway).

Yeah... I was also a Little confused about it when I heard.
But of course Danish TV didn't focus so much on the stage winner/ pink jersey bit as they did on the Julie Leth got white bit.

Are there some good mtfs this year? If so, I'm going Abbot ftw.

For a stage win or overall?

After "only" finishing fifth in the Emakumeen Bira I think that Vos may be worried about the big climbs and so is trying to pick up time in other places (including bonus sprints.)

Don't write off Stevens or even Luperini, while Claudia Häusler is showing the first signs in a while of showing her 2009 form again and I'd love to see her climbing like she was then.

Man, I miss the Cervélo women's team of that era, with Pooley and Abbott duelling in the mountains and towing Arndt and Häusler along behind them :(

Called it (not over yet, of course). Abbot dominates! Now leads GC by 1:27 with another mtf tomorrow. Sounds like Stevens went with her and blew up.

1 Mara Abbott (USA) USA National Team 2:25:25
2 Francesca Cauz (Ita) Top Girls Fassa Bortolo 0:01:44
3 Fabiana Luperini (Ita) Faren-Kuota 0:01:49
4 Tatiana Guderzo (Ita) MCipollini Giordana 0:01:51
5 Shara Gillow (Aus) Orica-AIS 0:02:38
6 Claudia Häusler (Ger) Team TIBCO To The Top 0:02:49
7 Yevgenia Vysotska (Ukr) S.C. Michela Fanini Rox 0:03:02
8 Alena Amialiusik (Blr) Bepink 0:03:45
9 Ashleigh Moolman (RSA) Lotto Belisol Ladies 0:03:51
10 Evelyn Stevens (USA) Specialized-lululemon
11 Linda Melanie Villumsen (NZl) Wiggle-Honda 0:04:23
12 Anna Sanchis Chafer (Spa) Bizkaia-Durango 0:04:27
13 Tatiana Antoshina (Rus) MCipollini Giordana 0:04:34
14 Megan Guarnier (USA) Rabo Woman Cycling Team 0:05:15
15 Marianne Vos (Ned) Rabo Woman Cycling Team

Wow, Cauz is a revelation! Shame for Stevens, good to see a good result for Sanchis, she was top 10 at the race a few years ago, then the contract dispute with Safi-Pasta Zara and the resultant mess has led to her rather disappearing from the international scene.

Still kind of hoped for more from Häusler, not because this isn't about the right level but because I really want her to get back to the 2009 level.

I also think the stage would have been better if the best natural talent that Great Britain has right now had been there.

Yes, maybe Great Britain could have sent a national team like the Dutch and the Americans.
