I'm already laughing my ass off at this giro.

astana on the brink of getting kicked out of the sport and Aru rising from his death bed to put in a performance like that, Tinkoff with a team full of proven dopers riding better than ever is just too funny.

and somewhere on the bottom of the list, JV is trying to tell himself that the peloton is still cleans.

Yeah having a quick look at the 2012 Giro, Garmin won the TTT. Methinks they've pared back their (outside the team) program or everyone else has discovered the ketone drink revolution.

Garmin sucking at the TTT compared to 2012 has a lot to do with the makeup of the team being completely different.

2012: Farrar, Rosseler, Bauer, Navardauskas, Hesjedal, Hunter, Rasmussen, Stetina, Vandevelde
lots of strong flatland guys and good time trialists as well as guys who were very experienced with team time trials

2015: Hesjedal, Acevedo, Brown, Cardoso, Danielson, Formolo, Marangoni, Slagter, Villela
most of these guys cant TT themselves out of a paper bag, mostly young inexperienced riders and climbers

there's definitely a doping aspect going on, too, but i mean, c'mon

Yeah, I never would have been able to guess the 2012 would do better than the 2015, the 2015 one is just packed with good TTers

Is it a repeat of the issues the Cervelo riders had when they came across (for the Italians)? Always hard to know where you stand on a "clean" team. That or the fact they were coming from a team where doping was institutionalised.

Also, the Italian teams all doing terribly. I know they aren't traditionally great in the discipline (and they are on the decline more generally) but with their level of charging could always punch above their weight...

lol

Astana is an italian team funded by ex-cccp state money for making country brand pub.

They are all doing it, they are not going to stop, 197 cheats.
We already knew that. The question has always been how much and what?

What they are doing does not really matter, they are either using something or they are not. What they use does not change that they are cheating. The rest does not really matter.

so Tinkoff are planning to ride a TTT through the entire giro.. wasn't there a time where it was supposed to be too hard to control the peloton for day after day like this?

It took him a while but De Jongh has managed to implement the Sky winning train formula. Maybe Riis was a bit reluctant to the idea and now that he is gone everything is going as it should. They'll drop everybody just by riding tempo. I can't wait for the Tour to see Sagan doing an EBH up the mountain in the Russian train.

But was ditching Riis the key to an UCI aproved SKY formula?

Too much dirt on Riis in CIRC/ADD report so Tinkov got the message and by showing Riis the door saving UCI from too much controversy earned himself a marginal gains SKY season?

Not that I believe this, but it is still part of my bunch of scenarios, and if true it might only be part of the puzzle...

So Sceptic, it´s up on you to turn up the volume. Now it´s all about the Olga-Bots. The Skyborgs are history. ;)

There aren't many positives to Tinkov doing a Sky, but you no longer feeling the burning urge to provide "balance" to the clinic might just be one of them.

The tour could be a complete joke with the entire peleton butchered every day by the Tinkoff and Sky trains riding people off the back just riding tempo on the flats all week in the first week so there are only the two of them left to compete come mountain time.

And the Richie RV is just massive trolling.. Are they afraid he's going too much *** so in the unlikely scenario he will get busted Brailsford will tell the world how he betrayed their trust when on his own in the minivan, and that they couldn't possibly have known what he did in there..
Smells like full *** on the way to me...

Was it Juul-Jensen 100 kms at the front today? Juul-Jensen of all. Can´t wait to see him drop even more serious riders than Kiryenka, Henao and Pellizotti. Great SeriousSam this Über-Olga, right?

It's still too early to say they are as bad as sky 2012, but if they keep this up and starts TTing through the mountains as well I will pretend I'm outraged, don't worry ;)

Fine. A sweet little nice pretending is good enough for me. ;)
