He is somehow really humble. He was praising his team in the winners inerview like crazy. His team was really solid but he nearly destroyed all of Ineos on his own in style.
Perhaps he won't be the new megastar, but he will win a lot without getting arrogant I think.

Apparently he's going to have another six days at altitude alongside Moscon in Schnalstal. I assume they'll sleep in the hotel on the glacier up at 3200m and go up and down eith the cableway to train in the valley
Training alongside Moscon seems like a red flag.

Pogacar thanked his team after Roubaix (after the team's lamentable performance when he got a puncture), so, anyone would appreciate the team work...

Yesterday BORA did a good job before the attack.

He looked good in Tour of Alps but not insane, and without issues I think he could finish second place. First place is out of the question. Vingegaard will win this as easily as Pogacar in 2024

Ineos may have other plans and do a Lucas Hamilton or Kevin Vauqelin at Vingegaard.

better field than 2025 , 2024 , 2022 , 2021 and 2020

3rd would be a big achievement
Almeida is in poor form. Carapaz has had a recent surgery. Gee is in poor form. Arensman has never doen it over 3 weeks. Gall is a good climber but is a poor rider on the flats. Bernal seems to be the only other rider in good form, but he's never quite managed it after his horrific crash.

There are some decent riders but none of them are in good form.

Agree. Just by names the competition is way better then in the last years, but somehow Most of them are out of form.

Names to watch as well for 3rd place: Landa, Mas

In addition it will be interesting to see how much time the climbers (Pellizzari, Mas, Gall, etc) lose on the long ITT stage to Almeida and Jonas

Looked very impressive when he closed that small gap to Vingegaard rather easily when Christen was gapped.

Hopefully he can make this an exciting race against Vingegaard.

Goes downhill well too, but not that special tt'er, it's quite a problem tbo.
He's really not that bad. He put in a good prologue last year and then a decent middle TT (under directions not to go all out as he was on domestique duties).

His Vuelta TT was bad but then in an identical one this March he came 12th and was faster than Jorgenson, among others. He'll lose time to Vingegaard but I am not expecting a disaster

Why do Italians generally suck in TTs? Ganna withstanding, but for GT hopefulls it is a problem. It's not like they don't know how important it is, but they only have eyes for the climbs.

Is that true? Even if Pellizzari is a bad TTer, which I don't think he is, the last great Italian GT riders were perfectly good time triallists (Basso and Nibali). Maybe that was the case in the 90s with Chiappucci and Pantani.

Even someone like Tiberi is a better TTer than climber, frankly.

Without digging around, Riis may have upped Basso’s time trial. It maybe wasn’t a strength early on.

Not after Stage 2 crashes. If JV can't absolutely control what's left they needn't go to the Tour. Go to the Vuelta instead and face a vengeful Roglic.

Burned himself today, but still managed to limit the losses for a podium. Wonder if he could have stayed with Gall if he had not blown himself up.

Gall was looking too good in the final kilometers. I don't think Pellizzari could've held on for the whole climb. His loss likely wouldn't have been less a minute: maybe 40 seconds?
