Looking to visit for a few days riding , really looking to ride the grand piano climb and anything nice in the vicinity .

But where would be a good base ? Any ideas folks ....

It would nice to have somewhere nicely connected to Rome and also the Adriatic coast as that's the exit direction to allow for journeying up the coast to emilia romagna and beyond .

all advice gratefully received .

cheers all

Those requirements might be a little conflicting. If connections to Rome and a good base for Monte Sibilini I would have said Norcia or even Spoleto. If proximity to the Adriatic as opposed to Rome is a priority, you may want to be on the Marches side - Ascoli maybe.
